I think the transition to 3D models kinda killed my love for Capcom's fighting games. They just don't feel as "fast." Yeah, even Marvel 3 as crazy as that sounds.

Not at all. It just doesn't have the same "magic" that the classic versus series had for me.

I don't think so. it was badly balanced, like many second string fighting games. It's just special in that there was a huge community built up around it because of super heroes or whatever, I guess.

I like weed and think drug laws are bullshit, but I also think there are circumstances where you kind of deserve what's coming to you because it's just so incredibly stupid.  This is one of them

Yeah what youre saying about it is probably true, don, it's just that I felt old and out of my element. Granted that was the first video game tourney I've ever attended so it probably isn't fg specific.

that's part of why I wouldn't try to get like super involved...it's mostly early-to-mid 20s folks.  I can blend in with the mid-20s guys, but it's still a bit past my time to get dedicated to it.  To get good, it's a commitment and takes up a chunk of your time, which sucks even though it's fun.  plus, i like playing other games too much.  I might still hit up tournies around here to spectate.  The local meet ups were getting a bit awkward since I was incredibly bad at UMVC compared to everyone and wasn't getting any better    

That game is complete bullshit though, which is why it's so fun to watch and play.  One guy leaves incredibly happy, the other is incredibly pissed.

If they have clean records I bet they get off with probation/community service and suspended jail sentences/felony convictions.  If they stay out of trouble for X time they'll be clear if they get back into trouble they get nailed.  Plus the school boots them if it hasn't already.

A Black Falcon Thread.

Having seen many A Black Falcon posts/threads in my time [more than 12 years worth], I can confirm that that is indeed an A Black Falcon thread.

ABF is a mega collector. He will buy any game as long as it's old and probably actually play it seriously. But it's totally bizarre the kinds of games he'll put a ton of time into [Army Men Air Attack 2, Mort the Chicken], versus the games he totally ignores entirely [Breath of Fire, Xenogears, Valkyrie Profile, Legend of Mana].

I like ABF's posts, even if he needs to learn a thing or two about brevity, and his taste is very weird. He's a huge fan of obscure western B and C tier games, especially 3D platformers, loves futuristic racing games, and is a huuuuuge N64 fanboy. I don't think he's a big RPG fan outside of Skies of Arcadia though (and apparently Star Ocean 2? ), so it's no surprise he didn't play any of those games.
