Why do people bother making threads like "Nintendo, What's so bad if they go 3rd party?"
It's around about the dumbest thing a person on a videogame forum can do beside posting a picture of their shemale folder or regaling everyone with a tale about sucking dicks for cash.
The first question people who entertain the idea should ask themselves is - do they believe Nintendo make good games, games so good they'd like to play them on another platform? Or maybe just different styles of game that they'd like to play on other platforms? If yes, how do Nintendo afford the time and freedom to make those games as good or as different as they are? Is it anything to do with making money hand over fist selling plastic peripherals, not paying royalties to anyone on their own games but being paid royalties by everyone who makes games for their platforms? Is it anything to do with the unique, privileged exposure and popularity that being the console manufacturer brings? And what would sound better to any company in the world? Having the potential to be a huge money making content provider in the future, renewing their fanbase cyclically with a bite at the cherry every 5/6 years OR being another budget driven publishing entity struggling to take risks in a blockbuster oriented gaming market?
Not to mention Nintendo building consoles and controllers tailored to their games and ideas. Maybe they being lower tier in terms of tech because it means they can spend money elsewhere and make more fun products?
It's not that it would be bad if they went third party, some people would love it I'm sure. They'd just be a different company with a different set of economics if they went third party. Even entertaining the idea shows a fundamentally distinguished mentally-challenged understanding of the industry. And Nintendo <> SEGA. What's the argument for Sony remaining first party? That they make huge expensive consoles that aren't as bleeding edge as a tip top PC and that they want to hook us into a shitty eco system where they can sell us music, movies and other shit we're not interested in? That they want to rule the living room? What a fantastic argument. Take my money Sony, you great innovator!
Nintendo want to make fun, popular games, competitively, affordably, differently. God forbid we can't play their fun and entertaining stuff on our all in one wonder box and god forbid we can't force the parents of young kids to shell out 500 quid or something.. How dare Nintendo be held in such high regard that they can survive being the only corporate cock gobbling monster making money on their own ideas! The horror!
I'm banned at GAF, if anyone has an acct or an alt, feel free to use my words above to stoke that threads fire.
