https://www.haaretz.com/israel-news/elections/.premium-app-used-by-netanyahu-s-likud-leaks-israel-s-entire-voter-registry-1.8509696
Quote
The Likud has uploaded the full register of Israeli voters to an application, causing the leak of personal data on 6,453,254 citizens. The information includes the full names, identity card numbers, addresses and gender of every single eligible voter in Israel, as well as the phone numbers and other personal details of some of them.

Israeli political parties receive personal details of voters before the elections and commit to protecting their privacy, as well as not to reproduce the registry, not to provide it to a third party, and to permanently erase all the information once the election is over.

The voter registry was uploaded by Likud to the Elector app, which is used by the party to manage Election Day. The firm that developed the application, Feed-b, commented that the vulnerability was a “one-off incident that was immediately dealt with," and that security measures have since been boosted.

Oh, and Von der Leyen said this last month:
"Britain cannot hope to get frictionless trade with the EU post-Brexit without ensuring freedom of movement of Europeans, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Friday. “If there is no freedom of movement of people of course there can be no free movement of goods and services and capital"

So just like it was before, with the added bonus of Britain no longer having any say.

I had lite eco-fascist feelings, encouraged by the circumstances (living somewhere where pinning environmental issues on China by people with big consumption is norm), but realized maybe harassing foreign nations for effectively outsourced pollution is unfair. That and even the plastics stat I bought into I now have second thoughts given the trade of wastes is a big thing and maybe the supposed plastics responsible nations need to settle the fuck down.

* a bunch of IMF and NATO guys in a room somewhere *

Guy 1: We must depose Jair Bolsonaro. He is doing too good of a job at crushing social democratic opposition.
Guy 2: Yes, yes... He is making it too easy for us to get access to territory in the Amazon for mining and agricultural purposes... Yes...
Guy 3: So we're in agreement then. We will arm and fund leftist rebels helmed by largely indigenous populations to storm Brasília and institute environmental reform even though it directly contradicts our economic interests. Guy 4 already has the media push ready. All in favor?

Guys: Accord *snaps fingers*

This is unironically beautiful.

The farthest I can get on board with eugenics tend to be for stamping out severe genetically inherited conditions.
Not sterilization just gene therapy, gene editing ideally.

It's a slippery slope. Eugenics is the idea that you can (and should) increase the "quality" (who decides what constitutes "quality"?) of the gene pool.
Of course you don't want anyone to suffer or die prematurely. On the other hand, you absolutely don't want tailor made humans.
And from an evolutionary perspective, you never know which mutation could lead to which other mutation in the future that could prove to be extremely beneficial (or even essential) for human survival. Eugenics effectively ends evolution and freezes us in time.

Who preemptively went to war with Nazi Germany with the declared goal of deposing the Nazis for any reason, let alone to stop genocide?

Czechoslovakia: invaded
Poland: invaded
France: declared war over Poland, invaded
Britain: declared war over Poland, "invaded"
Soviet Union: invaded
United States: Germany declared war after ally attacked

Even Italy was more "in the way" than anything else.

Montenegro declared war in support of Russia but Montenegro lacked a navy or any other means to engage Japan. After Montenegro (independent in 1904, but united with Serbia by 1918) had voted in 2006 to resume its independence, it concluded a separate peace treaty in order to establish diplomatic relations with Japan.
