i know what you mean, i've never met a network admin making 150k. network engineer, or consultant sure, but they don't often have CCNA's or CCIE's,
the perk of Net Admin is getting to do nothing most of the time, because most people don't understand what it is that you do in the first place, and i think they earn that by answering questions like these for years
