The recent M Bison reveal thread  :kobeyuck

I can understand why casual fighting game/SF fans might not be into SFV, but their complaints and grievances are dookie as fuck. SFV doesn't look that different, but for people that put a chunk of time into a fighter, how characters play is king. M Bison doesn't look like a gimmicky charge character anymore, he looks like a gimmicky fuck you in the ass type of character now.

Which is neat for anybody that actually played SFIV/SF anything with other people.

Witcher 3 downgrade defenders eviscerated.

It's also not surprising that most of the defenders are PS4 fanboys who hadn't even heard of the Witcher before E3 2013 (AKA 8GB GDDR5 E3).

as someone who enjoys the series, i fail to see how this "evisceration" plays out.  CDPR just had their best launch ever.  also that meme is lame, i mean granted "Hitler find out about X" needed an heir

Says the dude who would probably gobble grandpa dicks at Nintendo and wash out the flavor of cock with Miyamoto's spunk.

As for the topic, Kevin Smith has made good movies but his decline was quick and dastardly. Clerks 1&2, and Chasing Amy are great movies. Dogma is okay, Jay and Silent Bob is even more okay. Everything else is trash. His personality as of late has been annoying and weird, dude is seemingly  really into himself.

You know, it's almost as if you've never read the books or seen the show at all.

Him being a rapist is not out of his character. This is the same guy that tortures and mutilates human beings for fun. And your question is "what is added to the character by making him a rapist?" Are you kidding me? That IS his character. He's a sadist, a rapist, a brute, a monster. That's what's added to the character.

And 90% of people in Westeros are rapists. Can you answer my question instead of posing an inane one yourself?

What is out of character is Littlefinger letting Sansa go anywhere near the Boltons at all. Did YOU even read the book? Littlefinger knows shit about everyone. No fucking way would he be that clueless.

I watch the show.

Ramsay being subhuman is about as hammered home as the Starkes being scrubs. Nothing is added to a characterization by hammering a hammered nail. I'd say the same thing about Stannis bin Laden ordering another soul burned alive or Tyrion's hobbyist lifestyle. We get it bad book / show writers, let's move this train forward.

Rape (shockingly I know) ruffles a lot of feathers and despite your unsubstantiated claims about Westerosians (#notallmen) the show has never made it a core subject to depict (unlike violence). It was lazy shock value with something that scars a lot of people personally, hence what you so charmingly and originally referred to as "faux outrage."

What the fuck is Games of Thrones supposed to depict? I'm asking this seriously by the way. So far I've gathered amoral or immoral people win out in life because even if the do gooders get their way, winter is coming and everyone will suffer from snow and zombies. Also that dragon woman comes of as developmentally challenged ie mentally distinguished mentally-challenged, its the dead look in her eyes.

Ever notice people who excuse seem to have like, zero creative know how? Ever notice how they're almost always American?

How to do that storyline without doing it how GoT did it:

They go to the bed chamber, it shows Sansa's nervous face and hands shaking. Time elapse, transition, Sansa is reacting to this, but shows she won't waver. She is Stark, and this won't change anything.

Contrast to how the show did it:

Theon is included and the show concentrates more about his reaction - a potential savior - more than Sansa and her reaction - the actual victim.

We already know how depraved Ramsay is - they spent the entire last season building this up with a long, overstretched, dull storyline - so we don't need to see it. Again, this is a visual medium and not necessary to go over again. We get it. Your defense encapsulates everything wrong about GoT and American tv audiences: people who need the storyline handed to them on a silver platter, where every detail of the story is spelled out.

Lesson 1 of film making: visuals tell the story, and that's more important than description. What happened in the episode doesn't even make sense from a writing/technical/creative standpoint; it's redundant and takes away Sansa's own agency  - a character with reborn confidence.

This is why America is 36th in the world in terms of education. American's are fucking stupid.

Muphry's Law strikes again.

a) What happened to Jeyne Pool was worse.  Sansa is filling in Jeyne Pool's role in Winterfell so they don't have the actress sit on the sidelines a whole season.

b) They specifically cut away from the rape so as to avoid having gratuitous sexual violence.

c) Ain't nothing inherently wrong with a damsel in distress plot.
1. It was obviously a typo

2. There is something wrong with that plot when Sansa's previous character development was meant to show that she is growing OUT of a damsel-in-distress character. It's character regression.

Now seems like a pretty solid jumping off point regarding GoT.

The first few seasons of GoT were great by virtue of the quality of the book source material. That source material is not only running dry, it's now falling steeply in terms of quality. Expect more outrage and tepid quality the further they get away from the books. I wonder what numbers GoT will be pulling next year by comparison. :yeshrug

The Sopranos in its entirety is essentially hour long movies taking place in the same universe using the same characters. David Chase and the writers had this as a goal, where each episode has its own themes and arcs. I'd rather watch a Sopranos episode on the fly compared to most movies.

The pay off for sticking with a TV show is much higher than any movie comparatively. Ask fans of The Shield and Six Feet Under how they felt about the series finale for either respective show.
