Rising Thunder is getting released and the devs are open sourcing the server too. Pretty neat! The game is basically a more simplified clone of SF4 but I still thought it was a fun game, plus it played really well online

Did Team Ninja seriously just hold a funeral for the DOA series or is my twitter feed making shit up?  :lol

Not necessarily a funeral. But it's definitely put on ice until they decide to milk DOA6.

Tecmo is like the second Konami. Just utterly baffling decisions when it comes to AA gaming.

Who cares? We are talking about a company that made a character like Jack-O. I want Bulma and want her to be a pure zoner who uses gadgets to zone and low defense.

We are talking about a company that made new characters in BlazBlue just because they showed up in story mode that one single time and aren't consequential to the story at large. Arguing fighting game characters shouldn't be playable in a fighting game because "they aren't important" or whatever is butt fucking distinguished mentally-challenged. Character variety is good and the life blood of a fighting game. GIVE US BULMA.

Nope...just 18.  This is the current known roster:

Android 16
Buu (Kid Buu)
Good Buu (Majin Buu)
Frieza (100% with Golden transformation)
Ginyu with Ginyu Force Assists
Gohan (Kid)
Gohan (Adult)
Goku (Normal, SSJ, SSJ3)
Gotenks (SSJ3)
Krillin
Nappa
Perfect Cell
Piccolo
Super Saiyan Blue Goku
Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta
Tenshinhan with Chaozu Assists
Trunks (SSJ Future)
Vegeta (Normal, SSJ)
Yamcha
Android 18 with Android 17 Assists
Beerus
Hit
Goku Black

New female character Android 21 isn't playable, IIRC.  I suspect she'll be made playable later and we'll see more females appear as DLC or in the inevitable sequel, like the new female saiyans introduced in Super.  Less SUPER SAIYAN 1 2 3 RED BLUE YELLOW GREEN PURPLE ORANGE LUCKY CHARMS variants and more character variety, please.

I totally agree with Himu here- A tech-using Bulma would fit right into an Arcsys game.  So would personality-switching Lunch.  Hell, you can throw in future Mai, too with a gun-focus.  But I think it will be Caulifla and Kale if there's more female characters- the latter in particular turns into a huge, hulking super saiyan and is essentially a female Broly.

Trading Post and Tech forums were still pretty useful. Tech maybe just for me cause I'm the only person still doing padhacks in 2018 :lol But it was a good central location for people to post about new products/PCBs etc. Now I'll need to follow a bunch of people's FB/Instagram/Twitter to get the same thing.

Pretty hyped for AE but of course I have to work late Tuesday so I'll miss the first day. I'll go in late Wednesday so that makes up for it

Nah, Mr. Wizard should just retire, bitch. Dude's completely on Capcom's dick and Evo would be better off if there wasn't like 3 Capcom titles yearly in it.

(Same with Smash, which should be completely taken out of Evo.)

I would also be a fan of no one attending EVO anymore so they could downsize and go back to being on the Strip but I don't think that's happening at this point.

Also I'm fine with Smash 4 at EVO but Melee should definitely get fucked

Because Smash's community is stupidly clinging onto it.

It's like SF2 having a main-stage at every event. I mean sure, it's a good game, but it's old. Let the newer shit be main-stage'd.

Rewatched this video. I love the fireball wars in SFII. One of the biggest reasons it's my favorite fg is the poker like situations. Being able to keep up with someone in terms of dexterity is too fun. And they're right in that Ryu vs Guile is the GOAT matchup, especially if you're Ryu.

Because Melee purists don't like Smash. They like Melee. If a game isn't exactly Melee, it is unacceptable to them. This is also why Melee HD will fail competitively if it actually comes out.

They of course overlook that for a game to be "Melee" it has to rely on "broken" controllers or a hacked save/hacked game to be played "correctly" :doge

Oh no, you don't back out of this. Please enlighten us with this mystical "lack of knowledge" on how Melee isn't figured out.

Or played on a broken controller.

Quote
“Because of how the game is hard to be consistent at, it’s one of the most entertaining to watch,” said Oyarce. “You never know who’s going to lose. You can see the best player lose to someone because of a few mistakes. That’s not something you see in many other games now. In Melee, you have the top eight who are just going to be in the top eight, maybe in different orders. But that’s what I think this game is beautiful for, you always see some new stuff that can actually clutch out sets.”

"There may be new things seen, but the meta/players are pretty much figured out."

Melee gets a big viewership and entrants still, does it not?  And they playerbase is pretty different from Smash 4.  It's not going anywhere.

I just wish Nintendo would re-release it in HD or release an updated Switch Smash 4 port that everyone goes over to instead.  But even then the pros would cling to the original because of all the glitches they've gotten used to being in the game.

Like 100%? Then why keep playing? It's oldhat. Is it still competitive?

It's a little funny that you say this as a recent Super Turbo player.  :)
