It's so easy to trigger and derail people on GAF that hell, why not troll?  These people will fall for the bait every time.
This might just loop back around to recurring topic of how much better GAF used to be but the current level of discussion is mostly ass thanks to a lot of the trolling.  There are sometimes more posters poking the beehive than actual bees to react to the poking and at some point it just turns one big circus.  Too many posters are putting on a show for maximum attention.  Truth be told, there are a few borians I find perfectly cool here who were annoying as fuck on GAF.

 :idont

The size of the audience and ability to get a reaction from a large group of people can change the way people post.

There are definitely a number of posters who now clearly are trolling the fuck out of the place. But they are trolling from an angle that aligns with the current moderation regime so it just goes on and on.

Truth be told, there are a few borians I find perfectly cool here who were annoying as fuck on GAF.

I am 110% sure Lime is a genuine troll.

Always in early in the thread with the carefully executed derail. Then exit.

A few years back he/she shared my taste in hardcore PC games. We still do.

But the troll persona suddenly emerged one day. And here we are.

I am perma-banned and Lime jerks the moderation team around on a leash.

Alternative option: Lime = Dragona

:hans1

Hmmm... Both love Valkyrie Profile, now that you mention it... need to ask Lime their feeling on Baten Kaitos Origins and the Ys series to confirm.

LA Noire was great, would love another one.

Although it was pretty funny how when you choose an option to interrogate and the game misreads it completely. Chill out Kenny Cosgrove didn't ask you to yell at the girl.

LA Noire was great as a 1950s detective sim/adventure, somewhat less so as an open-world action game.

I'm curious for the range of opinions on this - can a person's consent to sexual activity (in some contextual form) last into unconsciousness, or must you be awake at any particular moment to say "yes" for consent to be present?

LttP, but if you think Red Dead Redemption 2's announcement was "one of the biggest news stories in gaming this year" you're either a product of long-term posting in a deluded echo chamber that rants about another deluded echo chamber all the live-long day, or a shut-in who more likely than not thinks video games are art. Possibly even both of these things as they are not mutually exclusive categories.

Yup.  And the music and atmosphere are fantastic.  It falls apart as an action, open-world game but that is more a matter of expectations.  Just don't go in expecting 1940's GTA

- GAF, where arguing the futility of tokenism to address systemic issues is a bannable offense.

Whats fascinating about the GAF collective and their thought/opinion moderators propping them up is how short-sighted they are in their supposed advocacy. Heart is in the right place, I just don't know where they left their brains?
Disagree here, I'm convinced people are just in for the same shit we've been doing since early 90s IRC - trolling and getting one over the next guy.

I got a free copy of the game because I was listening to my local college radio station and they had the guy who composed the music on and I called in and won. I mostly was just in my car like "dang these are some good tunes for a detective movie or something".

I never did finish the game though.

Something similar happened in the wrestling thread a day or two ago. Guy makes a comment, 3 minutes later, quotes himself and replies to the comment. When asked if he forgot to log out and sign into his alt, he claimed he sometimes just likes to quote himself instead of edit. Even though there was 1 post between him quoting himself.
Back when Neofeg was still on Reddit, someone there posted proof of a pedo roaming GAF. It was a croppedof someone quoting the post, but the quote was highlited green, which as you know is what GAF does when someone quotes your own post. Lord Neofeg himself replied to whoever posted that here, assuring that it would be rectified ASAP or something. :doge

Never made it that far.

I remember trying to get my wife involved saying "see this baby it's so resl" and after two interrogtions she or do she thought it was crap too.  People would be looking away, their eyes not focussed on the officer (tell) scratching their noses and what not but it didn't ad up to the answers and was alæ meaningless.

A big shame because the setting etc was top lotch

Nope, fuck that response. I think I said it here before but excusing a Trump supporter because "Oh maybe they just want small government" is like excusing a Hitler fanatic because "Oh they just really dislike smoking!"
Quote
This is exactly the idiotic kind of fence-sitting that normalizes Trump's and the far-right's insanity. Morally reprehensible political and social views are morally reprehensible no matter what proportion of the population holds them. Tolerating intolerance for the sake of "inclusion" is just about the stupidest possible route to take your open-mindedness.

But at the end of the day Zuckerberg is a businessman. These are just excuses he tells himself to feel better about the fact that he associates with shitstains like Luckey and Thiel. He knows this logic doesn't hold up to scrutiny.
Quote
Racism, sexism, xenophobia, and acceptance of sexual assault are not something to gloss over. It's part of a package deal. Guns and money are no excuse to overlook the indefensible. If you're willing to frame your apathy against bigotry and rape culture as "diversity" because it better serves your business then you are part of the problem.

I won't go as far as saying you're irredeemable but that does not make you any less bad of a person.

Fuck Thiel. Fuck Luckey. Fuck all of those closeted bigots yet to be outed.
Quote
Accepting bigotry under the guise of diversity. Cool.
Quote
He said far more than this. He said having trump supporters is a matter of diversity, he literally says facebook is strong for having a "diveristy of opinions" this includes anti-semtism, sexism, islamophobia and all the other vile stuff. And then speculated on their motivations seemingly excusing much of the racism, xenophobia and sexism we've seen.

Is it any wonder these sites are so bad about stopping harassment?

If this were any other election, this post would be perfectly acceptable.

It's not.

Trump is a champion for white supremacy, xenophobia, and sexism. You cannot separate any aspect of Trump's campaign from these things. Doing so is ignorant to the reality and dangers he poses at best, and is fully permissive of his rhetoric at worst.

This isn't an election between two equally valid ideals of how to run a country. It's about basic human decency.

Standing idly by and calling it inclusivness does not make you an accepting or forgiving person. It makes you a coward afraid to stand up and point out the contradiction. Donald Trump has built his monument on Mexicans literally with his failed businesses and figuratively with his introductory rapist speech.

And if Thiel really does vote for Trump and totally not because he's a racist, then he's enabling a racist man, enabling a racist government that is already here and would be even more racist under Trump and enabling a racist as fuck country to not change for the better. And all for what? Tax breaks?

If his tax breaks are more important than the plight of minorities everywhere, so much so that he is willing to vote in an extremely prejudiced, unstable manchild then what the fuck does that make him?

Zuckerberg how can you be inclusive and not take a stand to fight for that inclusivity? You can be inclusive and still draw a line, that line being anyone who isn't as inclusive as I am can get bent because I am only ever exclusive to the actions of people and not things out of their control such as skin color, sexual identity and/or orientation, or religion (even though this becomes an action once your old enough to consciously follow it).

Your not being inclusive Zuckerberg your being a coward and greedy. So fuck right off with your lame ass excuse.

Disappointing that Facebook provides cover for their high profile white nationalist employees :/

Need to start holding people more accountable. If Thiel was a teacher who publically spews what he spews he would be fired. Billionaire investors of billion dollar companies should be held as accountable as a kindergarten teacher.

the thing is, we don't know that his beliefs haven't affected facebook. what if he's been undermining diversity initiatives or something along those lines with his advice? if i were a facebook employee i would feel deeply uncomfortable about his position of power in my workplace.

For the people defending this, imagine Thiel was explicitly a KKK grandwizard. I mean he basically already is, but imagine he was one openly and admittedly. Would Zuckerberg's "logic" still make sense?
EATING SO GOOD

IMAGINE IF HE WAS LITERALLY HITLER THEN WOULD YOU BE FINE WITH HIM TAKING OVER EUROPE?!?

I don't think Trump supporters should be fired for voting for Trump. However, they most cetainly should be fired if they publicly speak/post about and support his sexist, racist, and xenophobic views.
They shouldn't be fired for something you can't know? Way to meet halfway.
