Millennials who think that times are tough in 2018 have no room to complain, according to former Vice President Joe Biden, who said that he had “no empathy” for young people who compared today to the struggles of the 1960s.

“The younger generation now tells me how tough things are—give me a break,” said Biden, while speaking to Patt Morrison of the Los Angeles Times to promote his new book. “No, no, I have no empathy for it, give me a break.”

Anywhere content flows—which is just to say the whole internet—is infected with lies and inventions meant to make you distrust anything as a possible lie or invention. If that doesn’t scare you, then you’re a fool. But if it does, well, that’s the point.

He could have saved everyone a lot of time and effort and just instead linked to whichever Adam Curtis video clip that inspired his article.

He's putting up some damn impressive numbers despite all the progressive smears. The super PAC money is working, for now at least.
It's not the PAC money. Biden represents a safe choice for the many people who don't want Trump in the white house but are scared of Bernie. It's like actually voting for Obama for a third term. Normal people don't pay attention to the news and even if they do they're not going to care that he crosses some social boundaries. The polls don't matter much to me until the debates start happening.

My worry is that so far biden's making a lot of Hillary Clinton-esque statements that show an apathy to people that come to him. Yet he expects you to vote for him. I said this on Glenn's facebook, but the Democratic Party "I'm chosen" "I have this in the bag and don't have to work for it" "It's guaranteed Biden will get the nom";etc that golden girl/boy thing that did Clinton in 2016 is the last thing we need right now and yet many Biden supporters and Biden himself are falling for it already. This stupid ass "Trump is grass in 2020 and we're going to smoke him" under estimating Trump thing as if anything is guaranteed is precisely why Trump won in 2016. And yet here we are in 2019 with Biden making arrogant statements, his supporters saying he's "guaranteed" to win. It's like they learned nothing from 2016 are still underestimating Trump. Right now Biden should be trying to get as many young people to vote him as possible. Instead, we have him saying the shit in the article I quoted above.

Why do Demorats do this? Why do they think they're guaranteed?

My fellow Americans. As a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball. But tonight I say, we must move forward, not backward; upward, not forward; and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

Bernie is the second choice for only a third of Biden supporters. I know there's a significant overlap between the two demographics, and that might have a lot to do with the "this is a white guy who isn't talking down to me" factor, but I'm just saying why Biden has so much more first-pick support from people than Sanders does.

Biden said that last year before he'd decided to run or hired any advisors who could tell him not to say things like that.

He shouldn't need someone to explain to him that's a dumb thing to say.

Well this is a guy who's run for president twice already and dropped out before New Hampshire both times.

Bernie is the second choice for only a third of Biden supporters.

That would be a bigger chunk than the part of the overall electorate who's picking him first.

Imo Biden’s biggest problem is that he sucks whenever he opens his mouth.

Everybody knows who he is. He’s basically the Democratic Rick Perry, and imo that gravity will eventually catch up with him and make this a race.

Okay. Terms?

I win if Joe Biden (born November 20, 1942) is the democratic nominee for president. You win if any person other than Joe Biden is the nominee. It does not matter if the convention is brokered. I think the wager should be $300.

Ok, I checked predictit and biden's at 28 cents. So why don't we just make it 2:1? That's a better deal than market.

I hope you think long and hard about his old man balls and constant old man farts and you'll hear "huh" after every sentence you make, you know he'll never listen to anything you're saying and just keep talking over you, likely the type who would put used tea/coffee bags right on the counter despite there being a trash can 5 inches away and ask you to help him with something on the computer then stand behind you and tell you what to do the whole time.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/democracy-dollars-gillibrand-s-plan-give-every-voter-600-donate-n1000381
Quote
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., unveiled a plan on Wednesday to give every voter up to $600 in what she calls "Democracy Dollars" that they can donate to federal candidates for office.

In an exclusive interview with NBC News to discuss the roll out of her first major 2020 policy initiative, Gillibrand said her "Clean Elections Plan" would help reduce the influence of big money in politics.

"If you want to accomplish anything that the American people want us to accomplish — whether it's healthcare as a right, better public schools, better economy — you have to take on the greed and corruption that determine everything in Washington," she said.

Under Gillibrand's plan, every eligible voter could register for vouchers to donate up to $100 in a primary election and $100 in a general election each cycle, either all at once or in $10 increments to one or more candidates over time. Each participant would get a separate $200 pool for House, Senate and presidential contests for a total maximum donation of $600 for those federal offices.

There would be strings attached for both donors and candidates. The money could go only to elections in the donor's state, although they could be used for House candidates outside the voter's district.

Politicians would face much tighter limits on donations. To be eligible to receive "Democracy Dollars," a candidate would have to voluntarily agree to forgo any contributions larger than $200 per donor. That’s a big drop from the current maximum of $2,800 per primary cycle and $2,800 for the general election.

Ripping off Yang's policy outright must be a low point for any presidential aspirant's campaign. Hope she comes out with Gillibrand bucks next.
