The CBO is really going to be public enemy #1 for Republicans over the next month or two.

That's why they have always hated it and sew distrust about it to the public. This isn't new.

JayDubya, thoughts on Trump's SC pick? Specifically his comment that Roe v Wade is settled law and therefore shouldn't be revisited? I saw a few conservatives upset about that.

I hope the House bill score contains a specific reference to the $8 billion that was added to high risk pools and how many people that would cover.

During a town hall in Lewiston, Idaho, an attendee suggested to the congressman that making cuts to Medicaid could lead to people dying.

“That line is so indefensible,” Labrador replied. “Nobody dies because they don’t have access to health care.”

Honestly, what Labrador said has been circulated around the right-wing echo chambers recently.

Not surprised to hear politicians now regurgitate it. Seems to be where the Republican party is at these days. The propaganda drives the party, not the other way around.

That and the bizarre argument that pre-existing condition coverage makes healthcare a "socialist entitlement" not insurance. Making hard working Americans pay more for people's poor lifestyle choices and Dems just trying to expand the moocher class.

The logic makes no sense on either account, but that has never been a barrier to most people on the right buying into a talking point. Trigger their 'feels' a bit by appealing to their irrationality toward libs/poor/brown people/socialism and many will believe anything.

And even when faced with proof that pre-existing conditions coverage isn't really about life-style choices for the most part, like Jimmy Kimmel's son having a pre-existing condition from birth, you've got people like professional-deadbeat Joe Walsh saying that it's not fair that he should pay for somebody else's kid [reminder: Joe Walsh was sued because he wouldn't even pay for his own kids]. And this is the party that's supposed to be all about Jesus and loving one another.

Noting that he voted for her confirmation, Cornyn said he found it “enormously disappointing” that she overruled the Office of Legal Counsel and countermanded the executive order because she “happen[ed] to disagree with it as a policy matter.”

Yates referred back to her 2015 confirmation hearing, recalling an exchange in which then-Alabama senator Jeff Sessions asked if she would decline to act “if the President asked me to do something that was unlawful or unconstitutional and one of your colleagues or even that would reflect poorly on the Department of Justice.”

“I looked at this,” Yates went on. “I made a determination that I believe it was unlawful. I also thought that it was inconsistent with principles of the Department of Justice. And I said no. And that’s what I promised you I would do. That’s what I did.”
