North Korea gets to run propaganda during the games, an athlete who only gets on TV one week every four years is allowed to be a bit over-dramatic when they feel snubbed IMO.

Shani should probably fuck off. Injecting Social Studies Warrior culture into the damn Olympics. Disgrace. Should be considered for being kicked off the US team or be banned unless there is a thorough apology.

I kinda feel like that response/solution sort of, kind of, might be slightly mirroring the behavior you are evoking as a negative epithet?...Perhaps just a little

I think the last line gives away the game(or at least where their head is at).

The plan would be to outsource the project to some private companies, likely for only a slight reduction in cost to the government, than the low balling company likely cobbles together the cheapest shit they can find to create a steady profit stream....that inferred delivery shit ain’t happening though(or any of this really).

Government program people will hate, but makes a lot of money for some private companies. Republicans get to advance their party’s life’s work of creating the worlds most expensive hollow state.

Still hanging on to a narrative that Trump is playing dimensional chess and is always one step ahead of the media/political opponents in 2018 is  :trash

I'm sure someone will explain why the Porter thing is brilliant on Trump's part.

"Granted I'm not saying I agree with his decision to defend a wife beater but clearly Trump understands the #metoo movement has poisoned the well, and by standing up for an accused man, Trump is standing up for all men in a powerful way."

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/12/politics/jeff-sessions-anglo-american-law-enforcement/index.html

Quote
"I want to thank every sheriff in America. Since our founding, the independently elected sheriff has been the people's protector, who keeps law enforcement close to and accountable to people through the elected process," Sessions said in remarks at the National Sheriffs Association winter meeting, adding, "The office of sheriff is a critical part of the Anglo-American heritage of law enforcement."
"We must never erode this historic office," Sessions continued.
Invoking "Anglo-American heritage" seems to have been an impromptu decision by the attorney general. A written version of the remarks says that Sessions was supposed to say: "The sheriff is a critical part of our legal heritage."

That is correct. I had forgotten about that.

I also realized that the government will somehow just not actually deliver the snap food and let each state figure out delivery.

Red states will choose to have a single  SNAP distribution center centrally located and all the poor people will have to figure out how to get there to pick up the food.

Here's a question. Why do Democratic voters never seem to be as galvanized as Trumpkins? For example, the Trump fanbase rallied around Nune's hackjob memo and made #releasethememo a trending hashtag on Twitter (with a little assistance from Russian bots). The Democratic counter-memo got cockblocked by Trump, and you'd think #theresistance would make a stand with the same fervor over the memo and make #releasethememo their own rallying warcry. Of course the entire memo business is stupid to begin with. I guess as long as they show up to vote.  :doge

Left's reaction to Trump seems pretty vigorous. Did you see how many views Keith Olbermann was racking up? I haven't been on Twitter in many years but I don't think social media noise is a good measure of how electrified people are, especially with spam bot mischief funded by state spy agencies.

Olbermann was racking up like 200-300k views, which I don't think is that huge considering he was a big TV personality. H3H3 videos break like 5mil views every time.

We've seen massive street demonstrations, sustained activism against Trump's health care and immigration agendas, and high turnout in off year elections.

I think people are fairly galvanized against Trump, just not particularly for the counter-memo. Which makes sense; the Dem memo is being presented to supporters as presenting context and correcting the first memo, the GOP one was being sold as evidence of an FBI conspiracy against the president, which is a bit more exciting.

But surely they can use Trump not releasing D memo as evidence of obstruction and make a huge deal out of it. Even "left wing liberal elite media" is kind of low energy about it, compared to the hysteria Fox drummed up about the Nunes memo.

The memo won't matter to anyone outside of the liberal bubble, just as the Nunes one doesn't matter beyond the Trump bubble. I presume it'll simply point out the obvious inaccuracies we (and the media) pointed out within hours of the Nunes memo's release.

The Dems build their base and party around their big super star Obama, then they tried to 180 back to the Clintons and it backfired. Without Obama they're left with nothing.

The GOP has played the long game with Fox News and now InfoWars. Just slowly tearing apart the fabric of space and time and winning local elections. However they always thought that the right conservative message could bring all the boys back to the yard.
They sure as hell wouldn't vote for godless, gun stealing, baby eating Democrats. But someone like Romney might just be conservative enough to get voted into office. Obviously that backfired too.

Trump and friends noticed that and decided to cut out the middle man.

IDK if it was a different Haberman piece, but that one seemed rather scathing toward Kelly?

Definitely hitting Kelly with likely knowing long before he claims to, but suggesting he may have even suggested Porter stay on even after he would of acknowledged he knew about the full scope of the allegations against him. That seems pretty damning.

On another note, this Christopher Wray testimony has been pretty interesting. Basically further adds fuel that Kelly knew long before he wanted people to say, and Wray has refused to say the Steele document is unverified, claiming he will only answer some questions in a classified setting.

In other news, seems like we have an escalating proxy war brewing in Syria with no good paths out and a widening chance for miscalculation.

US maintains it will remain in the region until a peace settlement can be reached in the situation.

In the meantime you have US backed Kurdish forces being harassed and attacked by NATO allied Turkish forces, aided by Russian and Iranian backed Syrian forces through various anti-Kurdish militias(that also attack US advisors in the region), with Israel doing its thing in the middle of it all.

Seems like a pretty delicate situation, probably a good time to force out a slew of lifetime experts at the State Department and attempt to cut their budget by 25%.

actually, it's arguably better than that because they quickly gloss over that these immigrants will likely pay their sponsors back as part of the deal:
Quote
According to our calculations, a typical family of four could boost its income by $10,000 to 20,000 by hosting migrants. The reason is that migrants to the United States usually increase their wages many times, allowing them to pay as much as $6,000 to hosts for sponsorships (and our average family could sponsor up to four visas, one for each member).
Quote
Wealthy families could sponsor migrants, too, but there are fewer of them, and they would likely find a $6,000 boost in income not worth the trouble—while the money would be a tremendous gain for sponsors with more limited prospects.

This has nothing to do with Trump, don't be so juvenile. The authors are left-wing "academics" (I am being polite) publishing in a Democrat party organ, Politico. Own it.

Just remember, YOU DEMOCRATS GAVE US SLAVERY AND ARE PROPOSING WE GO BACK TO IT. FFS, get help.

Wow, I knew Democrats were racists who only cared about illegal immigrants because they could get votes from them, but I never knew they'd stoop so disgustingly low to advocate that we "bring back slavery." Next time a moronic Democrat tells you that the Democrat party of today isn't the same as they were back then, tell them they're reality deniers and slap this vile excuse for an article on the table.

It's official; #PoliticoIsNowStormfront. Now, #TakeItDown.

The fact that the Democrats even THOUGHT of something so disgusting and that you find it FUNNY proves that I'm right and you're wrong, your alternative facts and revisionist history be damned. You lost. Now, go iron your white robe and pointy hood.

The excuse of the Democrats who wrote this article is that they're Klansman, but, just like your rationalization for Tribe (who's still SOMEHOW respected and who somehow was able to make that vile act of his immediately disappear), it's NOT a justifiable excuse.

Michael DiTraglia Calm down Igor. The Democrats aren't going to touch this.

Michael DiTraglia
Then they silently support it. They need to condemn this IMMEDIATELY.

It's interesting that both of those try-hard comment section muckrakers have completely empty facebook profiles
