Brehs, Ive got a tale of awkwardness and dumb shit I did beyond belief.

Was crushing on a girl from work, we talk a lot, have great chemistry. Told her I liked her a fuck ton, she didnt feel the same. Shes incredbly neurotic, borderline crazy, I have suspicions she loves the attention I give her and not much else.

Shit was really awkward but things went back to normal quickly. Being so into her and feeling used made me do next level stupid shit.

Saw one of my manager's on okcupid, liked her page and messaged her. Was high off my gord on weed at the time, thought a high match % meant something.

Shit does not mean anything I found out. The awkwardness from attempt 1 was squashed. Awkwardness from #2 is monumental. I didnt shit where I ate, Im almost shitting myself to death.

Yeeeeeeep.  :doge

I'm facebook friends with a handful and I had to unfollow them because I got annoyed seeing the same "re-imagined" Sailor Moon costumes or what-have-you.  :doge

Street fighter cosplay  :drool

Tons of bonus points for women that make their own outfits, shows they have fun with the hobby. Paid cosplayers that get shit made for them is a lot less cute.

I can't imaging having the self esteem to be turned off by someone (who is hot) standing me up.  Must feel good.

So we're supposed to be going out this weekend, but I'm probably just going to call the whole thing off. Possibly. It'll be a game time decision, I guess. She's hot, and we do get on really well when we're actually hanging out, but I'm really turned off right now.

Tell her flat out: If she reschedules this time, it's over. So she needs to make damn sure she is free that day. If not, she needs to give you a day she is and if she reschedules that day, it's over.

Women have a tendency to do this, I've found out through non-relationships. You have to repeatedly tell them "no, really make sure you're free."

No ultimatums imo. That's never gonna be a good look for you. Just nut up and ask her where she stands. She's either interested or she's not.

Not necessarily an ultimatum, but a "look, you've rescheduled 3 times now. Either you want to see me or you don't and if you do and then reschedule, I'm done waiting around. It's not worth my while."

If she's interested, she'd make time.  Since she isn't, it's pretty clear where you stand.  If you feel like being someone's Plan C or D or whatever, then keep doing what you're doing.

No, don't do this. The ball is in your court, don't pass it back to her and allow her to end things. Cancel and never respond to her again. The end.

She's not interested and has way more options than you. Stop being desperate because she's hot. There are other waves to catch.

I don't see the point in officially ending it after a few dates, it's just a waste of energy. I say if a girl likes you, she'll notice immediately if you respond less quickly and show less enthusiasm for communication. At which point she would understand that you're skeptical until she becomes more reliable.

I think I'm over this girl. She remembered she had made plans for tomorrow with an old friend, and that would be fine, except this is like the third time she's rescheduled or canceled something. Now normally I would see this as a very clear sign of a lack of interest, except that she keeps wanting to actually reschedule. If she's not interested, she's showing that in the most annoying way humanly possible, and if she is interested... well she's also being pretty annoying.

So we're supposed to be going out this weekend, but I'm probably just going to call the whole thing off. Possibly. It'll be a game time decision, I guess. She's hot, and we do get on really well when we're actually hanging out, but I'm really turned off right now.

She's probably just a flake. If she's hot, it has been tolerated by previous dates.

Grown up flakes stay flakey. They don't change. It's part of their thing: "That's just how I am!" -- Absolving them from responsibility for their own choices.

If you can tolerate that, good on you. I can't.

With flakes I take the whole "I'm going to go and do x, if you happen to be there when I'm doing that I'm cool. If you're not. I'm cool too."
It's a win/win.

So I got laid...

...off today.

That means dating will probably be on hold as I try to find a new job. I'm still employed for 2 months and have 3 months severance.

BUT, the last time I was in a position like this, I put dating on hold till I 'got settled in at a new job', and met my last girlfriend when not even looking/prepared for a relationship.

My ex is ruining her life :rejoice

Two of her rent checks bounced, she's dating a motherfucking Creed stan, she's out of work and not in school, has a stack of summons for unpaid parking tickets, and is going to be sued by her roommates after moving out despite signing a lease that ends in August.

I don't think I have an exes whose misfortune would bring me any satisfaction. Maybe that's because I've usually been the one more deserving of misfortune by the end. But I've definitely given them plenty of great material to work with! I'm an idiot. 8)

So yeah, the main thing keeping me from being interested in dating again was Match.com.  I tried loading up OKC again and I actually had one of my old profiles still up and just turn off and wow, right off the bat, way more interesting people on OKC in my area.  I went almost two months on Match and didn't message a single person, in like 2 hours of OKC I've messaged a couple of people.  I think part of it is that Match profiles have very little information, so it's just like "hi, divorced with kids, I like to hike.  the end" whereas OKC people's personalities tend to come out in their profile even if it's like fb style "make yourself look really cool" exaggeration (myself guilty of this as well).

But maybe I'll get back into dating.  Lotta interesting people in their 30s on OKC in my area at first glance.

Bebs, you complain that your work takes too much time, and Internet dating doesn't seem to be something you're excited about; why not take on both problems? Maybe make time to pursue a different extracurricular hobby? You might find somebody interested in something similar

Well, I do go to meetup social stuff every week or two.  But I'm not a big fan of mixing dating.  It's sorta like dating a co-worker where it can cause tons of drama and since I've been through that before I'm kinda ok not doing that again.  The social stuff is more to hang with people and do some interesting things I otherwise wouldn't.

As for like a regular hobby like a weekly Yoga group, or hiking group, or bowling group, etc......haven't found one I like yet.

You played Scrabble while drinking RC cola?

On my first date with my current girlfriend we played Scrabble, but with IPA, which is several orders worse than RC.

She later owned me on a gift giving occasion by giving me a framed recreation of my opening play (which was bizarre and not particularly lucrative from a points perspective) and her response, which was about as weird and middling from a points perspective.

This is a very "me" story.

Do these girls really manage to make money off this business model? My roommate got hit up by a cam girl/prostitute a couple nights ago. She didn't make it so obvious in her profile, but he figured it out after a couple messages.

Just seems weird. People on tinder aren't looking to pay for a cam session, I don't think.

Of course. If she's on tinder she's also on other sites where that type of service is easier to sell. And that's assuming she's even a real person.

I'd expect even more of this stuff after March 10th, when Backpage will presumably be shut down for good.
