 8)

even if i feel like staying in a hotel you can often find a hotel room on airbnb that is privately owned and has nicer decor than the tacky shit even the fanciest hotels think is nice. e.g. chicago athletic, a fairly nice 4* place will set you back ~$200 per night for a basic room. i got a penthouse apartment in the cbd for less when booking a little ahead in the off season. i dont want or need the valet/bnb/whatever shite.

I've been humbled by dating apps again and I'm bending the knee : my ex has a friend who has a bit of a magic touch to make decent dating app photos for guys, I'll try that because there's obviously something lacking in my profile that no amount of effort on messages can mitigate. I'm not a looker, I smoke, and I probably always play the contrarian to keep people at arm's length (I guess that's a way to make sure people are really into me ?), I don't expect women to flock to me -I'm obviously of the sort of beauty that has a dedicated but very confidential audience-, but being well into a sub 1% rate of any type of feedback is really grating for some reason.

If better photos fail at making a difference I guess I'll know where I stand vis à vis all this  :lol

In a way it's sort of quaint that even with dating apps and the bottomless catalog effect, it's still a crapshoot to reciprocally click with someone.

Lie about the smoking part in your profile. It's not really that big of a deal for most women, at least in my experience, but leads to you getting filtered out.

Pretty much this. Though even in France smoking is a lot less common or popular than it used to be. It's evident by looking at profiles for younger women (like how there's a lot more vegetarians).
In all seriousness, truthfulness is kind of a major stepping stone for an healthy relation. Also for whining on message boards because of blue balls, apparently, but heh every coin has two sides.

Not sharing any photos, sorry guys. They're pretty meh (my ex thinks the main one is fine but she's biased, obviously), because the lack of interest is consistent across the board for different apps, but I have four of them and all of them recent. Lot of room for improvement, but that's why I plan on getting a new good one.

Yeah. Some rando's flat quickly looked up on air bnb for a night doesn't strike me as "a nice place to get away with your girl for a few days" but that's just me I guess :yeshrug

I said if someone was bipolar that's exactly where I'd stop. That or Borderline Personality disorder? Nope out of there as fast as possible.
I got a lot of flak because they couldn't help it, but sorry, not sorry.  That building is on fire, get out ASAP.

Maybe she wears a ring on that finger to deter any unwanted attention (if the ring really keeps changing, that is). I know some women do it sometimes, especially if they get some creepers sniffing about. I think you should try stalking her a bit to make sure   8)

Whatever it may be it's going to be kind of awkward to move on someone I spoke to 5mn at best. (Different shift, different dept.) Just barely any occasion to do so. And no sign she would have any interest. Dropping hints around might for gossip to do the work might actually be more viable but it's kind of creepish too.

Only thing I can think of, if I can talk to her on Friday, is to say it's my last day before a while...

Oh well. Back to the dating app salt mines.

It can be rough feeling guilty about putting your significant other through shit because of your mental issues.

To be bi-polar, you'd need a single personality to begin with  :larry
