That thread is insane. What am I missing? Did the woman say anything racist or are they just assuming she is because the guy pushed his way in by her and she wasn't cool with that?
Also, I hope she sues the shit out of the company that fired her.
Thee's a difference between people getting fired for doing something racist and people getting fired for what people want to be an action based on racism.
There have been so many incidents in my life like this one that I would have assumed someone was being racist if I were black. About a year ago I was stopped for speeding and I had my hands folded, and the cop screamed at me to open my hands as I was sitting there listening to him as he was writing me up. Startled, I opened them and looked at him like, "What the fuck, dude?" and he goes, "It's for my protection. You could have been holding a weapon." I shit you not, if I were black, I'd have taken that as a microaggression. Several years ago I was denied entry into my brother's apartment that I followed someone in and didn't key myself into. The security guard spotted me, and I was told to step out and had to wait for my brother to get there. I don't know the details of what's going on in this video, but it's likely as benign as what I experienced. Or maybe it's not? It could very well be racist -- it's so hard to say because the confirmation and perceptual bias involved with this shit can be a huge problem.
If you were black, your parents would have taught you basic police etiquette when you first learned how to drive:
1. Put your hands on the wheel
2. Don’t move while he’s walking to the vehicle even if it’s to the glove box because they might think you pulled a weapon
3. Only move and get id or insurance when they ask you to so they can see you at all times
4. Don’t make any sudden moves
5. “Am I allowed to leave, officer?”
6. Use sir or madam.
The fact you think a black person would think that a micro aggression reveals you to likely be, 100% straight up cac bread.
Because that “micronaggression” is why you do all of the above in the first place to not escalate with an officer.
The fact you didn’t learn these things growing up is why you aren’t black and never will be black.
