Matt Taibbi turned 50 this year. He's a white guy. He went to an elite prep school and then to Bard College. His dad's a network TV reporter. He's got some pretty problematic shit in his catalog.

yeah, we probably shouldn’t underestimate how a lot of the progressive left media personalities grew up with the same upwardly aspiring, cosmopolitan urbanity that the older generations did too. they’re just as bourgeois as the civility libs, but more dovish because of the iraq war and more egalitarian because of the financial crisis and rising inequality.
