By the way, do the Boreians have a football topic? If so, link please, I like it here.

Do you mean soccer or American football?

SOCCER?

You're conversing with a dirty European who takes personal offence at America calling the great sport of football, soccer.

Yes, I mean soccer.

After the whole NeoGAF fiasco, Resetera should have been community owned and non-profit. Isamu Fukui being the sole owner of the new forum was the first indication that it would eventually go to shit.

It would be easy to ignore Era if it weren't for the fact that, much as I hate to admit it, they do have a bit of influence over the gaming industry through some "prominent gaming journalists". So when those whackjobs decide to screech at some game or devs, they can sometimes do damage to it.

Also, Bananas is our friend just like how a bulbous, pus-filled zit is a beauty mark on a face.

If you're okay with a self-hating Manchester United fan causing a wave of sadness and despair ruining everyone's vibes, I'll do my best.

Slaent has some proper activity for football, but using that forum requires a degree. I like things simple and old school. Plus, there is a large collection of Man Utd fans there and Man Utd fans are terrible people.

I could have taken more time browsing through their discord, possibly discovering alot more but I have other stuff to do aswell in my life

Oh no they got to him too ! Just how far are the disgusting tendrils of ERA rooted in the Deep Web of Mainstream Media ? :oreilly

So, because you fine chaps started posting about me and I was made aware...

Hey, thanks for posting. It's very noticeable you're left wing and liberal, you just understand that there are nuances to discussions, and that's not allowed in Era. I understand it's very weird to have a community that just watches Era/GAF and mocks what happens there, but it's fun. At least on my side I'm not bitter or anything, my ban there mas almost a suicide post, but that's mostly because I noticed that there's no discussion to be had there, there's no chance for humor, and the negativity surrounding EVERYTHING there makes you feel miserable.

Anyway, enjoy your stay here, as short as it may be. And no one cares.

Nepenthe in that thread pulling the classic RE approach to intent.

Step 1: Assume malicious intent and condemn accordingly.
Step 2: If there's pretty strong evidence of innocent intent that may mitigate culpability, claim that intent doesn't matter and condemn just as harshly as you did with the assumed malicious intent.

I seriously cannot believe how miserable these people are.

this kind of thing doesn't apply in all situations but something I like to keep in the back of my mind:

consider under what circumstances your opinion would be swayed or changed to the complete opposite

consider under what circumstances you would find someone innocent, or forgive, or feel some level of empathy for them

if you find yourself in a place where you would criticize someone no matter what, whether they had malicious intent or they didn't, whether they actually caused harm in this case or not, you need to examine your standpoints carefully and make sure you're not being tautological

And as for sticking around in this topic, genuinely not to antagonize any of you, because I recognize some poster names and did appreciate some reasonable/kind words around my ban, the best thing to do is move on from Era.

Did you recognise me

 :uguu

Yeah, I recognize most names, more so from GAF, considering my first introduction to this forum IIRC was where do you actually find out what is happening with Amir0x as NeoGAF were deleting topics.

Then again I think I browsed here a bit when the EviLore shenanigans were going down.

Maybe The Bore is just a drama machine  :doge

People obsession with era is so weird. You were banned, get over it and 7se another forum.

Your friends on The Bore were sending me messages and invited me here, so blame them. But yes a few hours of posting today and that is indeed what I'm doing. I'll pop-up somewhere and move on. Maybe The Bore needs its own football topic. Not soccer.  ???
No one here is friends with bananas and I'm going to insist you stop replying to him, no one has time to read anything that stems from his smooth brain.

So much so, if there is ever another exodus, expect the scat porn images again, statements that prominent posters were never happy, everyone saying they adblocked and more. It's very easy to tell no matter the public face most users put on whilst using Era, many of them are seriously unhappy.

you know, if there is another exodus I don't think this would happen

the only reason people got away with it in the first exodus was because era was supposed to be a clean slate, with many people missing those who had been banned unfairly, and early screeds were all about how everyone was forgiven and welcome to join for a second chance

now anyone trying to move to the new promised land who is identified posting problematic content would be on the shitlist from day one, if not blocked outright from joining

I think this is the most recent soccer thread:

2018? I can see there is a lack of people of culture around here.

most soccer fans here do most of their posting in the gay thread.

Audioboxer, your reveal of the CDPR artist to ResetERA.com's ravenous hordes was a masterwork at attempting to shut down productive and progressive discussion. :delicious

Except it was never meant to shut down discussion but try and provide evidence of humanizing someone quite a few had already decided was the evilest person imaginable. As I said in that topic, it's fine to trawl through 20 years of social media and post evidence someone might be a bad actor, but it's somehow unfair to post something contextually related around this person and their employer that might paint a more nuanced picture.
