So I know we all have some fun jokes about pedo James and his gang of young squids, but I really do care about the health and welfare of our human children, and generally date -/+ 5 years of my age.

I stumbled across this subreddit today...and yikes.

If you're a predator looking to hit up kids, this is literally a candy mine

https://www.reddit.com/r/teendatingv2/

How is this allowed?

Reddit is such a horrible website.

I can't imagine being a parent today with the internet in this state. Yes, yes, back in the day we had Yahoo chat rooms, but whats a kid going to do, give the predator their land line?

Now every 7 year old has a phone and is a click away from snap chat or whatever the kids use to share nudes.

On one hand, the UK porn ban registry thing is dystopian government control nightmare thing.

On the other hand, maybe 12 year olds shouldn't be a key stroke away from every kind of porn known to man?

This shit can't be good for brain development and growth.

The UK porn ban things probably not happening because the person who really wanted it has zero political power any more, and every time someone has the bright idea to suggest widespread internet monitoring for political capital, the security services step in and have a quiet word that they'd really rather prefer nothing overt like that is done, because the dangerous criminals people actually should be worried about are easier to monitor if they don't think anyones paying attention.

If you widespread adoption of encrypted VPNs by a sizable portion of the country who want to jack it in peace, you get a widespread portion of the populace you can no longer monitor for activities people actually don't want to happen.

Kids are using proxies in elementary school to access sites where they download videogames on pirate Google Drives, I don't think cracking down on that will solve anything.

I dont think the issue is the smart kids going out of their way to access the stuff.

Im concerned about the stuff thats not just out in the open, but easy to accidentally come across.

I mean the entire reason I use reddit is because it has so much great porn. As a well adjusted adult, thats fantastic.

But maybe there should be some distance between the Minecraft Memes for the 12 year olds and the facial compilations?

I don't think there is an answer other than:  people should probably use law enforcement when they are sexually assaulted not social media.    And everyone not directly involved should maybe STFU a bit or at least not be so adamant about being on one side or the other.
Why are you attacking and trying to silence the true victims?

Nope, I'm at the senior level, 4000-numbered courses. And they're all like this. I had a quiz in my political theory class, 4000/4th year level, and it was 10 multiple choice questions matching up vocab words from the reading to their definitions. We were given 15 minutes and I finished it in 15 seconds. I haven't been this relaxed about school since second grade.
Quote from: GrizzNKev
I'm only two weeks into this major and I've never had a discussion class before, so I was hesitant to speak up in those situations. If I become "that guy" for doing it, so be it.
Personally, I'd just stop showing up at class except for exams/papers and instead spend all your time reading ResetERA.com.

Repeat until degree is acquired.

“An Asian trying to learn English bothers me more than someone listening to like Lil Uzi Vert while I’m trying to eat,” he continued, referring to the rapper.

Hey IW, can u ban the dumb maga clan tags
Yep, this is my biggest issue with the game right now. Everything is insanely fun but I keep seeing all these people with awful clan tags. I can just mute them, but the clan tags can't be hidden and this is borderline harassment. I'm not even American. I just don't want to keep seeing all this hatred.
you can pry my [YUM!] brand tag from my cold dead hands

In 2015, just out of high school, I spent the entire year searching and failing to find a Trainee ship or Apprenticeship. I took a few job trials and was not hired for any of them. One of these Job trials taught me just how truly awful a bad job can be and is the reason why I refuse to drop my standards to rock bottom for what Jobs I'm willing to take on.
In 2016, I gave up, and went to TAFE (I think it's similar to community college in America), and studied IT Networking for the year, getting a diploma. At the end of the year I had another failed Job trial.
In 2017, I was hired for a full time role basically doing physical work at a VFX studio, with very minimal amounts of IT work. It was a very nice year, probably the time I was happiest these past 5 years. My contract there ended after 10 months, and I spend 2018 hopping between 4 jobs.
I kept the first one for 3 months, the second and third for a week, and the last for 2 months. The Jobs at the start and end of the year hired me solely due to the prestige of the VFX studio I was at (and thus, I was horribly unequipped to handle either of the jobs, and I was miserable at both), and the other 2 were standard IT support junior roles. They were very nice the 2 weeks I was at each, but I was let go because my customer service skills are bad (I'm on the Autism Spectrum).
I spent a lot of 2018 hoping that the VFX studio would take me back when work there ramped up again (During the time my contract ended the studio was cutting many employee contracts due to the fact that the studio itself had just hit a lull period in it's movie contracts), and I took another interview there, only to get turned down due to not gaining any IT skills over 2018 (How could I, when the 2 jobs actually teaching me anything got rid of me in less than a fortnight each?).
I took this hard. After everything I had been though in 2018, I came to the realization that I was enjoying the boring mindless menial work more than anything resembling IT work, so I changed what Jobs I was looking for come 2019 to less technically oriented jobs, like data entry, and whatever else looked like something I could do without being miserable. That was 9 months ago. Before 2019, I got call backs on my 75% of calls, and 95% of those would get an interview.
Now, nobody calls me anymore. I got a single call and then interview mid year for a trainee payrole officer role, only to fail to get the job because apparently graduates with bachelors of accounting were gunning for it too (Our economy is fucked). I found myself getting less picky over time with what I was applying for.
Outside of my VFX job, getting hired then quickly let go (Or failing a job trial) is a very common occurrence for me, almost the norm. Needless to say it means I am TERRIFIED of starting new jobs.
I should probably admit to something here, I technically have a casual job at the work place my mum works at (She helped me get it at the start of the year), I say technically because it amounts to a single 6 hour shift every 1.5 months. Basically fuck all. It's a very relaxing job though, working there makes you feel better about yourself.

As someone on the Autism Spectrum, I get disability pension (Adds up to about half of what I'd earn full time minimum wage a week), and my parents don't charge me rent, so my present financial situation is pretty good.
But I can't live a full life on disability (Not to mention I wouldn't be shocked if the Right Wing cut disability 1 or 2 decades down the line, once our economy is completely fucked)
A few days ago I set myself an ultimatum, if I haven't gotten a job by 2020, I'll probably go to Uni. To study what? Hell If I know, but I have nearly 4 months to think about it.
5 goddamn years of being unable to keep a job.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk
I have identified one problem.

Strange all of the responses are giving him unhelpful information about getting Jobs instead of telling him to eliminate capitalism.

How will one person getting a job end systemic inequality?!? What a waste.
