If human civilization has only been around for about 6000 years, then we are a microscopic blip on the cosmic timeline.

If intelligent life developed on another planet, it would also be a microscopic blip on the timeline.

Imagine how small the probability is of those two blips on the timeline happening at exactly the same time? It's highly unlikely to the point of impossibility.

If we ever get off this planet and find other life, we are much more likely to find remnants of an extinct civilisation or simply primitive life forms than we are any sort of intelligent civilisation. The reverse would probably be true for any extra terrestrial visitors to Earth.

Additionally, the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light at further distances from earth. Even if lightspeed could be achieved ( i don’t think it’s possible), such a civilization could never reach us.
