Surfinn surfaced in the PoliEra thread during a Lewinsky to try to revive the Tara Reade wars:
https://www.resetera.com/threads/us-poliera-2021-ot-2-manchin-sinematic-universe.390371/page-224#post-65437355It was easily as much from dems as republicans, if not even more. My parents still argue to this day that she is a whore who ruined Clinton's presidency. This is primarily based on information gathered from liberal news stations/outlets.
A lot of striking similarities to her and what liberals did to Tara Reade (who, by the way, had her investigation dropped and all the attacks against her disproven, but for some odd reason, no one ever widely reported on.. hmm..)
Wonderment takes the bait:
Whatever discrepancies remain (or can't be made clear) about Reade and Antioch really have little to do with her claims. Yet from a reporting standpoint there still is no clear sequence of events or outcomes from her matriculation or employment there, even the intercept article says so. But yes there is enough there to refute the Times' posturing and wording against her.
And it descends into a bunch of back-and-forth with various people over Reade until Surfinn catches a threadban because Era is no longer the safe space for shouting down anyone who doubts Reade that it was for a brief period in 2020:
User threadbanned, further action pending admin review: hostility and inflammatory accusation against other members over a series of posts
We've demonstrated she lied under oath about not having taken the bar. She also lied under oath about being a legislative aide to Biden. (She was a staff assistant.) She has a pattern of lying in self-serving ways. There's a term for that. It's liar!
And someone being a liar matters to me when trying to evaluate important allegations they make.
This is incredibly dumb.
Also, that you're using these examples in a way to extrapolate them to her accusations of Biden is disgusting and misogynistic.
The timely threadban happening after Surfinn has already flounced out:
So now we're accusing an attorney that represents domestic violence victims a misogynist?
And you don't see any problem with lobbing that accusation?
You're twisting my words. I quite literally did not say that. That comment was an aside. I was talking about the narratives I've seen pushed here and elsewhere about her being "crazy", a compulsive liar, etc.
Edit: This is my last post about Reade here. Just disgusting behavior all around.
Twice:
Nah, I'm done. You wanna carry out the narrative that Reade lied about unrelated things and therefore lied about being sexually assaulted by Joe Biden, go right ahead. I want no part of it.
But really I just want to commemorate the linguistic hash that is the second half of Wonderment's post, in response to the threadban:
Lamont doesn't want the CT legislature to approve tax increases for the rich, either. Basically "if you have a budget surplus it's not necessary", while seemingly putting aside that the federal government just gave the state a boatload of money, and CT keeps complaining about the years of unfunded pensions and such they have to finish paying for.
That Psaki characterization of "compromise" seems more like a carefully-worded political trap to meet the moment, but they may be true believers in it anyways.
Also, TFW you give someone a measure of agreement for an argument they were making about bias in media, and they admit in reply that their goal was to want other members to eat crow over unfounded bias - crow prepared in accordance with an article that did not represent foundedness.
Using an argument about media, as a Trojan horse in any community thread in order to seek out general membership for things that were said in the OT, then getting to safely eject from the mess via a threadban, is a poor outcome for discourse.
I refuse to believe the existence of the phrase "crow prepared in accordance with an article that did not represent foundedness" is a good outcome for discourse.
