Sure, but might want to ask how many they're getting- have read some people got them pre-ordered there and were told there were only a few available.  One guy got two and was told they only had five available.

Also with Gamestop doing poorly and closing more stores, you might be S.O.L. later on.  Good luck getting your money back from a closed location.

It'd be based on expected inventory that's allocated to GameStop/each store. If the availability is sold out online, I imagine you cant reserve inventory that hasn't been allocated yet. If PS5's on hand = 0, there's nothing to pre-order.

I dunno, why did I pay $1,000 for Valve Index? It's just gaming. There's stuff I'd like to play (Miles, Demon Souls, Astrobot, Sackboy, Ratchet & Clank in Spring, GT7 in Spring, etc...)

PS3 cost me around $1,000 at launch importing one from Japan at like $700-$800+shipping with some launch games. I used to have two of every console at launch for USA/JP versions to play USA & JP games. At least now they're region free so only need one.

The gamestop bundle has no description yet lol, only a photo showing 2 controls, 12 months PS+, Miles Morales & Destruction Allstars and it's $250 over the console price.

Guessing:
$70 extra controller
$70 PS+ year
$50 Miles
$60 Destruction thing
=$250 exact

Was gonna buy an extra controller anyhow and Miles for $50 and I keep missing any deals for PS+ and been paying full price, so really just getting a $60 game I have no interest in.

Walmart lasted the long which gives hope for Amazon getting a decent amount. Walmart lasted about 10 minutes, Target maybe 5-8 mins. I think Amazon can handle not crashing and the amount of orders. So as long as you're there within a few minutes of it going up I think you should get through.

My best for Amazon is a midnight thing, either Midnight EST so 9pm or Midnight PST. I'd be really surprised if they hadn't gone up by 9-10am tomorrow.

I'm definitely interested on which games will get upgrade patches. I was going to pick up and play Ghost of Tsushima, but if it gets upgraded on PS5 might as well a few months.

Actually we do know this one. Though there's a shit ton of stuff we don't know about the system in general.

When you play a PS4 game you get three options (potentially 4)

Compatibility mode PS4 - Plays the game exactly 1:1 the same as playing on the PS4
Compatibility mode PS4 Pro - Plays the game exactly 1:1 the same as playing on the PS4 pro
Boost Mode - lol, let the emulator fly, maybe some games will load faster, have better framerates (if they were unlocked to begin with), might break some games. Aka Boost Mode on PS2/PS3/Pro.

4th option is upgrade patch. This will be game specific if a developer wants to put the effort in to basically remaster the game at higher settings (4k/60fps/120fps/etc...) for PS5. I have a feeling there's not going to be many of these and they might not come all too quick. I'm hoping Ghost of Tsushima gets one of these, same with Last of Us II, and I expect they both will but it might be like 3-12 months later.

They made PS4 a PC instead of unique hardware so they could have BC going forward just like how modern PCs can run most older PC games.

All the messaging to date for PS5 seemed like "Well the big games will work because we took the time and QA to test them and make sure they work, but we're not paying people to test tits&ass indie fighter #3 so we can't say if everything works BC". But now it seems like they've tested enough stuff they can throw out the 99% number.

Wait a year, dude, see how the failure rate goes. GT7 is not that fucking impressive and you can just get Project Cars 2-3 or Forza 5-8 on PC/current gen consoles if you're THAT antsy to play a pretty car game.
