This is why I think the new owners should just come in and remove all the mods and put their own mods. If their serious about wanting this place to grow then getting those community's back here would be great.
If a company with the resources to run multiple sites now owns this place, then all of the staff - including the mods - should be getting paid for their work.
If they consider doing that, they may as well kick everyone out and get new staff, because I imagine they are not going to bother to negotiate contracts with Slayven or Nephente.

A lot of social media platforms like Twitter and Tumblr have spaces tha are more progressive/leftist than Era, and places on Discord and Reddit as well. Admittedly I don't know of a more leftist website dedicated solely to gaming, except for maybe the spin-offs, though.

Additionally, while this site does lean fairly heavily liberal instead of leftist, I can't really think of a way to build a community that is outright leftist without making it explicitly politically themed, and I don't outright hate liberals as individuals since often they seem well-meaning if nothing else. I also have a theory that because forums skew older millennial, they're naturally going to be more liberal than spaces that cater to a younger audience. People who are old enough to have not grown up in a post-9/11 world and have at least some kind of a chance at property ownership seem less radicalized than the opposite.

The value of Resetera only exists with slave labour and now that the curtain has been torn down, nobody is likely to keep giving their blood, sweat and tears for free.Let's say they pay a modest $40k per mod (which is pretty cheap) X 10 mods. That's at least $400k in wages. Given the are currently 45 listed staff members, 10 mods is a very conservative estimate.Turnover is currently $700k. Shit doesn't work out.

It's not great, but there's a reason why the site was teetering from existential crisis to another, and that reason has ironically, been removed and people are suddenly defending the very thing that they were rightly critical of before.

Since it's come up a lot, I just wanted to mention that we did discuss this with MOBA Network and they were emphatic that they are not in the user data business and never will be. They're not going to sell your data. Nothing is going to change about how your data is handled and protected.
