Well I could have linked to the National Review article on it or the Fox News one, but I try to directly link to the journalists who did the work in the first place. Could just link to the actual FISA investigation, too.

Though I don't know if any of those places measure up to the bastion of journalistic integrity that is Gawker.

On the one hand he's a big Rudy Giuliani fan and has used him as a political adviser. But maybe that's just for tips on being a Mayor in a big city rather than foreign policy.

The Sinclair group is in fact garbage though. And they purchased Circa and installed a Washington Times douche at the head.

They are the conglomerate that forced all their local affiliates to run straight Trump propaganda on all their channels at points during the campaign. And before that forced all their affiliates to air a propaganda Swift Boat documentary in 2004.

They also just so happened to have gotten a nice kickback from Trump's FCC to to now allow the purchase of Tribune media and allow them and Fox(and other conglomerates) to greatly expand their holdings and reach.

http://www.wnyc.org/story/sinclair-growing-reach-conservative-media/

Story may have merit, but since the first non-Circa site to run with it was WND and Infowars - And toilet is the one pushing it - I don't think waiting for more credible organizations to jump into it is the wrong way to go.

The report itself exists online. It's been put out into the public. The opening is relevant and is the part about Upstream collection monitoring US Citzens of no interest.

"The October 26th, 2016 Notice informed the court that the NSA analysts had been conducting such queries in violation of that prohibition. with much greater frequency than had been previously reported to the court."

On page 68, it starts discussing the FBI's scew ups with their database of information and access violations, along with exporting the information to users lacking the authorization to view the information.

Quote
Jared Kushner and Russia’s ambassador to Washington discussed the possibility of setting up a secret and secure communications channel between Trump’s transition team and the Kremlin, using Russian diplomatic facilities in an apparent move to shield their pre-inauguration discussions from monitoring, according to U.S. officials briefed on intelligence reports.

Ambassador Sergei Kislyak reported to his superiors in Moscow that Kushner, then President-elect Trump’s son-in-law and confidant, made the proposal during a meeting on Dec. 1 or 2 at Trump Tower, according to intercepts of Russian communications that were reviewed by U.S. officials. Kislyak said Kushner suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications.

The meeting also was attended by Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser.

Listen, Kushner's also in charge of innovating government, getting peace in the middle east, reforming the Veteran's Administration, being the head of diplomacy, and solving the opioid epidemic. He's got a lot on his plate, okay? Can't always be perfect.

Hillary Clinton Is Furious. And Resigned. And Funny. And Worried.

The surreal post-election life of the woman who would have been president.

Quote
“Oh, I am [pissed],” she says. But as a woman in public life, “you can’t be angry for yourself. You just can’t. You can be indignant, you can be annoyed, you can be frustrated, but you can’t be angry … I don’t think anger’s a strategy.”

You mean it’s not a strategy for you, I clarify. “For me, yeah.” She pauses. “But I don’t think it’s a good strategy for most people.”

But this was an election that was, in many ways, about anger. And Trump and Sanders capitalized on that.

“Yes.” Clinton nods. “And I beat both of them.”
Quote
“You know, these guys on the other side are not just interested in my losing, they want to keep coming after me. I mean, think about that for a minute. What are they so afraid of? Me, to some extent. American businessman and investor Martin Shkreli is putting up $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.
Quote
Shkreli is not the only person offering a six digit reward for information surrounding Rich’s death. Washington D.C. attorney Jack Burkman is offering $105,000 and calling on the DNC to step up its role in the investigation. “I don’t know who is worse, the DNC — who haven’t done a thing, or Sean Hannity who talks about it every night without action. All talk, no action,” Burkman said Wednesday

obtained the public incident report, which revealed that at least three responding officers were wearing body cameras. When TheDCNF reached out to the police for information regarding the presence of body cams or surveillance footage near the scene of the crime, the department refused to confirm or deny the existence of surveillance footage.
Time for a special prosecutor to look into this. If the DNC and Hillary Clinton are innocent then they shouldn't be afraid of helping the family and loved ones of Seth Rich finally be able to put this crime and cover-up behind them by seeing the people in the Clinton campaign who ordered this hit spending life behind bars.

Bet you guys are regretting getting out all those L's you're going to wind up carrying for a long time.

Don't have a strong reaction to this, but here's another thing:

The distance between Donald Trump and his G7 partners was spelled out dramatically today when Theresa May and the leaders of Italy, France, Germany, Japan and Canada strolled the streets of Taormina, Sicily — while he followed in a golf cart.

After college, Trump mostly gave up his personal athletic interests, he came to view time spent playing sports as time wasted. Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn't work out. When he learned that John O'Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, "You are going to die young because of this."

Watched the Frontline on Bannon.

At one point I looked at a shot of him from present day and thought, "Man, I should probably cut down on the boozing so I don't wind up looking like that at 63."

Then they cut to Trump and I thought, "Well, if you can look like that at 70 after a life of sobriety, I'm just gonna keep doing my thing."

This year, after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol at the end of the last, I've radically changed my diet and started (somewhat, for me anyway) seriously exercising. I've lost about 30 lbs.

I'm drinking more than ever, though. Just vodka and soda water. But I'll be fucking dead before I try to go through this fucking administration sober.

Scoop: Trump tells confidants U.S. will quit Paris climate deal.

President Trump has privately told multiple people, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, that he plans to leave the Paris agreement on climate change, according to three sources with direct knowledge.

https://www.axios.com/scoop-trump-tells-confidants-he-plans-to-leave-paris-climate-deal-2424446776.html?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic

For reference, Axios is the news organization that is especially nice to Trump, so they have given them more access then almost all other organizations.

Also for reference, fuck Trump.

Don't think that's quite right. It's a new site that focuses on keeping their news items very short and digestible, and was founded by Politico alums who probably brought their own networks of sources. They broke a number of stories about the AHCA as it bounced around the House. Doesn't really have an editorial section AFAIK.

From my understanding, they largely seem to avoid stories that are harsh or overtly critical of the Trump administration.  They get access by being willing vessels to voice their side of the argument. Right or wrong. And they pepper their coverage with stuff like this. Again, right or wrong. It seems to keep them in the good graces of people in Trump's inner-circle in a way it hasn't with other outlets(and so I keep hearing on various random podcasts like FP, Pod Save America, NPR Politics etc.).

The only reason I really mentioned it was because Axios has a better then many track record on these things(developments on internal decision-making). So I am inclined to think barring a last minute meeting(since i've read Trump seems to often go with the advice of the last person he talks to lol), this is unfortunately likely a done deal.

One of the problems I have with GAF(and lots of message boards in general) is the perpetuation of self-righteousness as a cheat code in discussions.

The irony being, that people like yourself regularly use variations of that same tool to deride GAF and those around here you find disagreement with. For what often appears to be the same self-serving desire to score empty victories and feel superior.

"Disturbing our safe space" would be making reality based claims that contradict anything we say/believe/think.

You just show up and regurgitate bullshit and conspiracy theories (or bullshit conspiracy theories, on your busy days)

This thread is everything wrong with GAF done by people that think they're any better than GAF.

No. I just stare at what some of you say sometimes. There's nobody here to win points with and I obviously don't care about that. You can't really pull that line on the one disturbing your safe space.

I thought it was widely known that etiolate's posts are mostly garbage and he should be put on ignore?

Believe it or not. Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin were both Jewish. I was shocked to find, most of the original Soviet Communists were Jewish
