Excalibur #1: Kinda 'eh' to me. It does have Captain Britain (Brian) and Meggan in it, but the latter has no real part in the story and Brian is turned into a bad guy, leading to Betsy becoming the new Captain Britain after stuff with a Krakoa portal popping up in a magical Camelot realm pisses off Morgan LeFay, who retaliates. Something that has started coming up in multiple X-books is that Apocalypse knows more about Krakoa and related stuff than he is leading on, and this is no different. He's totally gonna do a predictable heel turn on everybody at some point.
X-Force #1: Domino fucks up an attempt to go undercover and infiltrate a mutant-hating group, who then somehow find a way to make themselves all appear to be her so they can attack Krakoa and get through its defenses (handled by Black Tom Cassidy). The terrorists look like Reavers but it's not said if they are or not, get on the island, and proceed to kill people- including Professor X. Of course with mutants able to be brought back, this isn't as big a deal, although X being dead is kind of a problem. Still expect him to pop back up soon enough. This issue makes the X-Men look really fucking dumb, too- for a group of superheroes used to dealing with attacks on their own, they sure did a shitty job. We also get a subplot where it appears that Krakoa may still be 'evil' and possibly just letting all the mutants stay there, and get comfortable, so that it can take all their energy for itself.
Fallen Angels #1: KwannonPsylocke is all emo about being resurrected and doesn't feel at home on Krakoa, so she leaves go do thangs and brings X-23 along with her. Kid Cable will end up tagging along. Felt kind of boring. Can see this one getting canceled. One thing I do like, that has been shown in multiple books, is this kind of tension between Betsy and Kwannon where Betsy kind of wants to talk with her, but Kwannon just avoids Betsy and doesn't want anything to do with her. Maybe it would help to not use her code name and costume?
Still need to read New Mutants #1 (supposed to be more light-hearted) and X-Men #2, featuring Krakoa going to another another island
and fucking it.
