Should I be excited about the Bengals this year or is that a lost cause?
I'm up for Fantasy again, if you guys will take me.

Hey! I haven't forgot about you. I bought the beer, I just never took the time to ship it out. I don't think you would want it now, though! :lol

It's never bad to be a Bengals fan! It actually looks like they stand a good chance of being the best team in the AFC North this year.
Niners didn't look so hot :lol

DRAFT IS CURRENTLY SET FOR SUNDAY, AUGUST 25TH AT 2 PM EASTERN TIME. Normally I would say something about how important showing up for the draft is, but Gundam's auto-drafted team murdered everyone last year, so whatever.
Give me your auto draft tips then!
I thought it was at 2pm? It's saying 5pm now
If anybody needs a decent WR and has RB depth and wants to take a flyer on McFadden, I'll trade you one of my top 3 WRs and McFadden for any decent, DEPENDABLE rb that doesn't have a week 5 bye. Would rather not rely on McFadden.
I have Bush and Shonn Green...Green will be a dependable 3rd down back behind Johnson, and might even rush more if Johnson has a stinker year (which I think he might).
What are your WRs again?
It's also 12 teams this year. Always a bit more scrambling for decent players

Sources tell me NFL is considering a whopping $100,000 fine for Lions' Suh for hit this weekend
Sources: Sanchez has labral tearhttp://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/9663997/mark-sanchez-new-york-jets-likely-headed-surgery-labral-tear-shoulder-end-season-sources
New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez is "likely to have surgery" that would end his 2013 season after Dr. James Andrews confirmed Wednesday he has a labral tear in his right shoulder, according to team and league sources, as well as a source close to Sanchez.
Sanchez was still trying to make a final decision on whether to have the surgery now to repair the tear and instability in the shoulder following his injury in the team's third preseason game, the sources said.
Sanchez could opt to rehab the shoulder in an effort to play at some point this season, sources said, but still likely would need surgery at the end of the year. A source close to the quarterback said it would make no sense for Sanchez to delay the inevitable under the circumstances of the injury and the team's commitment to rookie Geno Smith.
Sanchez, who saw Dr. Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla., is expected to make the decision on surgery within the next day or two, sources said.
Poor Brady. Who are these scrubs he's throwing to?
damn didn't know there was a game tonight
:lol @ thinking a 6-10 season will get Schwartz fired. How long did Matt Millen stick around as GM posting far worse records?
DAT SLOW WALK IN. BEAST MODE MOCKS YOU.
Collinsworth was hilarious earlier. Kapernick makes ONE COMPLETION and he's all "Oh man Kaep is the real deal, lemme suck his monster dong." Then he blows it in the red zone and has to rely on his kicker to score some points for them.
:'(
So tired of Greg Roman.
Hope some team or college tries to hire him away.
Trent's first carry as a Colt...is a touchdown.
If the Brown's wouldn't have won today, those tears would've been delicious.
Rapist karma, breh :heh
I know he got some interest last year, but I feel like there's a reason he didn't end up anywhere. The fans do not love him. They didn't love his playcalling the last two years. They hated those playcalls in the redzone in the Super Bowl. I think there's questions about how good he really is.
He gets too cute, tries to do things his team isn't good at, and wastes downs and drives. Just looking at this Colts game, it was hard to see anything in the routes and plays that schemed to get receivers open. The Niners never run screens, so teams don't have to respect that. The only counter to all-out pass rush they ever had was Kap and Smith's mobility.
Today, every pass was Kaep trying to lazer it into a window. No plays just to get drives going. They have one good drive that was full of Pro Sets and power running, and leads to a TD. Surprise, suprise, doing the thing your entire personnel is built around and has succeeded with results in successful offense. After that? More slanging. Gore had 82 yards rushing, almost all of it in the first half. In the second half, they open up in shotgun and run verticals.
He got a lot of credit for involving the pistol offense and read option, but there's been no expanding upon it this year.
If Staley's injury is serious, the Niners season is pretty much done.
CUTLER :rofl :rofl :rofl
Like many fans, referee Terry McAulay is used to Reid being with the Eagles. After Reid successfully challenged a spot in the third quarter, McAulay announced, "Philadelphia will not be charged a timeout."

I'm starting to like this Titans team.
Does that really seem like a bad match up at this point? Both are better teams than we thought they'd be and it'll probably be a good game.
Jesus christ browns, you finally get a quarterback that makes everyone play better, and you don't fucking protect him. Knee injury.
God the browns are steeler-bad

They are now scrambling local channels. FREE CHANNELS. Also, fuck the FCC.
I'm just glad the Lions are 3-1. Here's hoping they don't fuck this up somehow.
why are you seahawks fans so gloom and doom when you are 4-0 :maf
LOL Brady
'Grinding the meat': 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh was ecstatic about the 18-play, 89-yard touchdown drive late in the fourth quarter that gave the 49ers a nine-point lead. Harbaugh called the drive “grinding the meat.” Several 49ers said they’ve heard the coach use the expression before.
My gut says Foles, and all I needed was someone like you who knows more to push me over the edge. Thanks, Maurice :-*
Luck is money.
Niners mostly dominate the Titans. Locker tried a comeback, but it didn't really ever seem like something that had any hope. Titans and Colts are two AFC teams I can get behind if it doesn't interfere with mah Niners. A fan of Luck and Kendall Wright. Locker has been impressive as well.
You'll still win.

Wow, surprising GB/Chi game. I figured Chicago would just lay an egg. Not only did they show up, Rodgers got hurt. Next week is going to be huge for the Lions. Beating Chicago again would be huge for our playoff chances, and we'd top the division for at least the week.
edit: Rodgers might be out for three weeks....

Such a bullshit call.
I hate people bitching about the refs. Maybe you should be good enough to not need close calls to go your way to win.
And fuck Brady, I almost lost my match because of that INT.
Also fuck New England, we will NEVER hear the end of this call. I still hear people from Wisconsin rage about Golden Tate and Redskins fans whine about us "pumping in artificial noise." Fuck it all get it over it.

....getting screwed by a bad call sucks period. Obviously you guys benefited from one of the worst calls in modern NFL history but I can't imagine being fine with losing under those circumstances. Especially this year with the playoff race so close.
I'm no Pats fan, I was cheering for them due to a Carolina loss making the Lions playoffs position more secure. But still, that was shitty.

You guys need to pick up this issue of SI.
San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis claims that St. Louis Rams safety T.J. McDonald went below the belt to make a tackle Sunday and wouldn't let go.
"I'm still thinking about it. I can feel it," Davis said after the 49ers' 23-13 victory, according to the team's website. "It was a crossing route, I made the play and as soon as I got my hands on the ball, [McDonald] was grabbing me right there in that space, that area, and I kept telling him, 'Let go, get off me, get off me,' and he wouldn't let me go."
Davis also tweeted about the third-quarter play Monday, saying "it should be a league rule saying that a defender can not tackle a player by his penis," calling it "the most painful thing ever!"
so top 6 get in?

Yeah, that penalty on the 2-point conversion was lolwut?
It's legal but shitty. Ward is an undersized guy, so the ony chance he has of getting Gronk off his feet is by taking them out. He just happened to do it right when. Gronkowski put all his weight on that one leg.
It's the exact kind of play people were saying would happen when they took away head shots.
In PDX and didn't even party with me, the nerve.
This is why I'll trust the Seahawks over the 49ers any day of the week: Wilson can beat a great defense, Kaep can't.
"We didn't project it to be this way," Sherman said, according to the 49ers' official website. "We expected to blow them out, but they got the benefit of a few calls tonight throughout the game and that helps you, especially on third down. We will see them again, and it will be a different result."

Seattle's Defense Relies On a Brazen Tactic: Rampant Interferencehttp://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424052702303754404579310500005285822
On Saturday, the New Orleans Saints take their flashy passing offense up to dreaded Seattle. We wish them the best of luck with that.
The Seattle Seahawks—the favorites to make the Super Bowl out of the NFC—employ an exasperating defensive game plan: They blitz rarely and drop an army of defenders into pass coverage. And those defenders mug, obstruct and foul opposing receivers on practically every play.
Quietly, the Seahawks have achieved a 13-3 record and home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs by exploiting a loophole: NFL referees are reluctant to throw endless flags for pass interference and defensive holding, even if defenses deserve them.
"They look at it and say, 'We may get called for one but not 10,'" said Mike Pereira, a former NFL vice president of officiating who is now a Fox analyst.
League insiders say this divisional-round matchup between the Seahawks and Saints, the NFC's top passing offense, may be Seattle's rule-bending masterpiece.
What's wrong with Periera?
Anyways, they're right. The Seahawks hold and interfere as much as they can. It's no secret.
Get off my wagon.
Whoever plays the AFC is gonna win the Super Bowl. Hawks and 9ers have DEFENSE.
Russel's gotta play better if we're going to win it all

smh @ bandwagon fans
Go Hawks!
this game is already five times better than the earlier one
plus how dominant Denver's defense is
Gundam is a top 25 Bore poster, but even so I'd kind of rather see Denver win just so bandwagoners like PD can't gloat too much.
Peyton Manning isn't gonna be making the same mistakes Kaep did though, you know that right? Granted he can't change the game by running the ball either, but still. Y'all WILL have to work for this.
Hopefully somehow Peyton Manning suffers a career ending injury on a touchdown pass that emasculates Richard Sherman somehow... not sure exactly how that works but I can dream.
Do you really even have a reason for truly hating Peyton? Like, TRULY hate and loathe him? I'm seriously curious. Was there something personal that happened that you aren't mentioning? Or are you just the worst kind of victim (perpetrator?) of team bias?
You hate the man despite being statistically the best player over the last 10 odd years? You hate him because he has a funny looking head and does shitty commercials, something a lot of players (Aaron Rodgers, etc) do?
We don't actually hate the Falcons, you know. Did you notice that most of us here were really bummed that Matt Ryan couldn't get it done in the playoffs? Most of us were also excited to see what the Falcons offense would look like this season with Jones and White, and we were really bummed that Julio Jones got injured.
I really cannot fathom your hatred for the man despite being the best player in the league, and doing so much since those early playoff choke-jobs to erase people's apprehension towards him. It's just purely illogical to hate him other than severe team bias.
whoever did that is a piece of shit
To be honest I don't care about either team, but I want The Broncos to win just so I don't have to hear anyone "defense wins games" for a while.
BUTBUBUBUT TRASH TALKING IS NOT WHAT SPORTS ARE ABOUT MAURICE
People are STILL calling in to Detroit sports radio complaining about Sherman
(http://i.imgur.com/BfJBePQ.png)
To be fair, some are fine with what he said. I honestly think the tone is what caught people off guard. If he wasn't screaming at the top of his lungs maybe folks wouldn't be so upset. Still at the end of the day, you can talk all the smack you want when you back it up.
And it's worth mentioning the guy has never been in trouble, never had a DUI, never been busted for drugs. Oh and he graduated from Stanford. He's not a "thug" and anyone who calls him one if exposing their racial prejudices.
The only reason it bothers me is because it seems like it's the accepted way of calling somebody the N-word nowadays. Because they know.

I know Aikman and others were quick to say Manning's legacy will not be impacted by this but let's be real: he has struggled in the playoffs since he came into the league, and played rather average in the one SB he won.

I like how the poll here was tied or close to it at the start of the game, then grew in Seattle's favor as the game went on.
Inevitably, close watchers of the broadcast noticed that neither Flea’s bass nor Josh Klinghoffer’s guitar appeared to be plugged in to anything. It was first pointed out by Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid, who tweeted “That guitar is plugged into NOTHING” during the show. Photo evidence seemed to back him up, and though there was a stirring online debate about whether or not the Peppers could have been using wireless transmitters, Reid set the world straight. “There were NO wireless packs,” he tweeted. “Which would be a nightmare given the huge amount of wireless channels. They leave NOTHING to chance.”

As if the day wasn’t bad enough, Seattle selecting Russell Wilson, a QB that doesn’t fit their offense at all, was by far the worst move of the draft. With the two worst moves of the draft, Seattle is the only team that received an F on draft day.

William Clay Ford Sr., the owner of the Detroit Lions, has died at the age of 88.http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10578119/william-clay-ford-sr-detroit-lions-owner-dies-88
Ford was the last surviving grandson of Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motor Co., and has owned the Lions since November 1963.
The Baltimore Sun reports the Raiders are expected to sign free agent T/G Rodger Saffold "for roughly $8 million per year."
The Raiders must value Saffold over in-house free agent LT Jared Veldheer, as the report states the Cardinals are expected to sign Veldheer for "between $7 million and $7.5 million." Saffold has generally been stretched as a starting left tackle in the league. He's fared better at right tackle and most productively at guard. Versatile but injury prone, Saffold would certainly be locked into the blindside in Oakland if they're going to shell out that kind of money.

Unreal RT @BairCSN: #Raiders announce that Rodger Saffold failed a physical and will not be signing with the team.

I heard about it late while driving home. Immediately thought "can't wait to get home and troll Gundam!" But once I got home I realized I needed to shovel ten inches of snow, and as I shoveled I slowly began to remember why the Lions are the Lions and the Seahawks are the Seahawks. It's not a bad deal but if we were a decent organization we wouldn't have to sign a #3 WR as our #2 - we could have drafted a #2 a couple years ago. Instead we drafted basket base Titus Young who will never play in the NFL again, and Ryan Broyles who tore one ACL in college and the other in the pros, and has never been healthy for us.
So instead of pulling out the :umad for Gundam I'll just shake his hand firmly and walk away.
The newest Romo is a boy named Rivers. So, yeah, his name is Rivers Romo, which sounds a hell of a lot like Rivers Cuomo, who is the guy from Weezer. Either Tony and Candice have never heard of Weezer before and are in for a bit of a shock once they realize what they've done, or they are both just really big Weezer fans. I say it's 50-50 either way.

Mark Sanchez released by Jets. Since he entered the NFL in 2009, no qualified QB has posted a worse Total QBR than his 36.1
