Fallout 3 > Morrowind > Oblivion imo

I really liked Morrowind, but the claustrophobic fog and cliff racers took away a few points in my opinion. I'm tempted to say that Oblivion ranks higher than Morrowind, but either way Fallout 3 trumps both.

Also, I finally built the Choo-Choo Rifle!

Ka-CHANG!!! *splat* Choo-Choo!!

So awesomely ridiculous.

So what's the better choice, blowing up the bomb or disarming it?  I'm leaning towards pillaging the place, killing everyone, then blowing it up.

If you blow it up make sure you get the bobblehead from the sherrif's office first. Blowing it up gives you 1500 caps and a suite at Tenpenny Tower. Disarming it gives you some stuff I cant recall and a house at Megaton

I'm in the middle of those right now.  I think that and Blood Lust are the two sidequests you can get there.

also, if anyone's getting big drops outside, disable water reflections.  seems like Water : Fallout :: Grass : Oblivion, performance wise.   Plus, it makes the water look murky and toxic, as it should look.

So I went back a few saves on my PC copy to "max" out my megaton experience before destroying it.

Here's what I did:

1) I stole the Sheriff's key to get the bobblehead in his house.

2) Late night, when the bar is not crowded (both the ghoul and the chick that sells rooms were asleep), I blasted off Moriarity's head, and then killed the rest of the bar workers.  I took their keys and opened the fridge and got a shitload of caps.  A patron sleeping upstairs attacked me.  I murdered him and got maybe my BEST prize: a combat shotgun that holds 10 rounds.  I also stole everything worth a nice price.

3) At the general items/gun shop, I did the 2 easy quests (Walmart and rad poisoning), and then I killed the shop owner and her guard.  I stoll all the shit she was selling.  I sold the stuff I didn't want back to the 3 remaining vendors in town (Doc, Restauraunt outside and inside).  When you kill someone, you get access to all the shit they are selling.

4) I murdered the doc, stole all his money and the medicine.  It is all worth good money.

5) I sold and murdered the in-door restaurant dude.  I murdered him at night, when he's selling drugs, because he has more money then.  I stole his stash and resold it once I got to Tenpenny Tower.

6) I hired the mercenary/party member in town for 1000 caps.  I already have over 3000.

7) Right before leaving town, I blasted off the Sheriff's head to get his pretty decent Chinese Assault Rifle.

I raped Megaton like a cheap whore before I made it a crater.  I rule.

Some of my friends were unexpectedly in town and being Fallout worshippers we decided to snag it and kill a few hours. We played for 13 hours. Straight.

Blown away. Awesome. Exactly what I wanted. EXCEPT: Anything involving the capital wasteland is horrible. The year's worst, no doubt. It's incredibly difficult to navigate via subway, the map is innacuarte and useless. It took me a solid 4 hours to complete that stupid fucking "Reilly's Rangers" quest. 90% of that was running like an asshole and the other 10% was sneaking past the ELEVEN MILLION SUPER MUTANTS REILLY DIDNT TELL ME ABOUT.

Other than that, the book quest is awesome and

agreed.  I don't understand why these huge, 100 hour long games only have about an hour's worth of music on repeat.

Also, I hope they raise the level cap at some point.  20 is way too low!

Someone help me out here.  Is there some sort of trick to hacking?  I've raised my science skill so I can get access to the monitors but it all seems kind of worthless in the end since it seems like it's all guess work.  It doesn't even matter than I can back out after my third attempt and go back in with 4 fresh picks because the game generates a new list population everytime you attempt to hack. WTF.

Is anyone having any success at this shit?

This game needs more music.

Snag the Fallout 1 and 2 soundtracks off the internet and just plop them into the appropriate folders.

Or any other music that you feel appropriate. Modders should fill in the gaps in a month or so.

After running out of ammo a few times, I've been using the Ripper melee weapon. Pretty handy, because if you use it with VATS, it has a pretty good chance of dealing a one-hit kill, the downside being that it uses your entire set of timepoints for the one hit. It's saved my ass more than a few times now though. Without VATS, it's faily useless.

Just pick three at random and then reset until you get it. I've had as much luck doing that as actually trying to work out what the right answer is.

noobish question, but is there a way to transfer a saved file from one computer to another ?

I wanted to play this at my friends house this weekend so I ended up lugging my big ass machine over there, but I'd be much happier just taking my laptop if it's at all possible.

Hit lvl 10 today and I'm loving it.  Is the level cap really 20 though?  If so :(

search around for the save file, copy and paste.

cap is 20 :(

They've already mentioned that the PC and 360 will recieve expansions.

And I got a question - I came across Lincoln's diary, Lincoln's voice, and a Lincoln action figure.  Is there something I should be doing with this stuff?

20 just seems so low.  I'm almost to level 11 and only have played a couple of days.  I look forward to going back a few times and doing things differently though.  Is there a good chance we'll see expansions for this?

It is very low.  They should leave it capped in the game, then after the ending you can go back and level endlessly while exploring and doing sidequests.
