There are certain offences that don't require votes or discussion.  Perma'd member on a new account is one of them.

Let's try to look at this story seriously. There are clearly a lot of posters here who feel that this kind of behavior is a legit, acceptable thing for an employee at a restaurant (a customer-service establishment) to engage in, but I don't see pretty much any actual attempt to provide a reason why it would be acceptable.

So: would anyone like to non-flippantly justify this? Don't rely on lazy societal stereotypes about how much fat people suck. That is, quite literally, kindergarten behavior: assuming that everyone else knows fat people are legit targets so it's fine to just make lazy jokes about them and not explain why. Make a real case: what reasoning makes this sort of behavior okay for a person in a customer service role?

Think we've headed in the wrong direction recently, and a big part of that is with perception of how off topic is being moderated now.

Not much has changed, mainly just a more proactive look at gendered insults. But lately a PC brigade has been stringing up anyone who holds a position anywhere not completely in line with their agenda, and I've been cringing more and more reading these threads and their evangelical hostility.

The important thing at NeoGAF is that our members are civil and respectful with each other. Each other. Be civil and respectful with every member of the forum, period. We'll remain free to ban anyone who isn't in line with the vision of the site, mainly idiots and bigots and cuntly dickish assholes, but it's not your responsibility, any of you, to enlighten us as a whole and cast the disbelievers down into a pit.

So with that said, the footies can use cunt again, as a generic British substitute for every word in their language, because the prohibition had good intentions at heart but didn't make much sense in practice.
