having clothes strewn around isn't as big a deal for me, but food mess/trash lying around is 100% scust. I had to fight to convince my friend that it's easier to wash dishes right after you're done eating instead of letting them pile up and congeal in the sink

Clothes (outside of underwear) makes sense to me because it's just kinda laziness when you take them off and you're always I'll wear that again soon maybe. And then you realize it's piled up for a week or two.

But plates and food and stuff

I can see maybe your cup/glass from the day before and maybe a clipped snack bag or two depending on who you live with. But once you go beyond that you might as well bring out the pot pies and put up your Iwata picture.

I've heard it as LGBTQQIA for at least a year or more now. The acronym is getting really long in the tooth, i agree, but the identities added on in the past few years have become increasingly prevalent.
