Today he was asked on ITV's This Morning what his favourite order at McDonald's was.

He said: "I was there at about I think, gosh, 7.45am in the morning, or 7.30am, so it was not a burger and nuggets. So I get a bacon roll with ketchup and the pancakes."

He added: "If I'm with my daughters then we get the wrap" with "the hash brown and everything in it."
However, breakfast wraps have not been served since March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and in January McDonald's confirmed they would not return.
The gaffe was likened to David Cameron claiming as prime minister in 2012 that he loved pasties and had last eaten one at the West Cornwall Pasty Company at Leeds station. The outlet had closed years earlier.

A Sunak campaign source said: "Rishi has barely seen his kids in the last two-and-a-half years since he became chancellor so there has been almost no opportunity to share a McDonald's with them. He's hoping they might consider bringing the breakfast wrap back on the menu."

A spokesman for McDonald's said: "Bringing the breakfast wrap isn't something we're considering at the moment."

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/rishi-sunaks-favourite-mcdonalds-item-hasnt-been-on-menu-for-two-years-vwdmw39jm

I love how the campaign source's explanation makes it 10 times worse :lol

Dutch government is in crisis too.

Economic outlook is terrible. Despite 4% economic growth, purchasing power will decrease up to 8% next year, perhaps even more.
1 in 10 kids will be in poverty.

One of the coalition partners which has been decimated in the polls now wants to change course dramatically. The leader of the Christian Democrats has grown a beard so you know he's serious.
He wants 10 billion for poverty reduction (mostly to deal with the energy prices), more time for nitrogen reduction to end the farmers protests and a short term ban on immigration as there is a shortage of housing and welfare services.

The left is very, very angry at this 'treason', (especially on the nitrogen and immigration issue) and PM Rutte has said that it should stop with this one act of defiance otherwise things could become very difficult.

What is really scary are those buildings where the explosions went off but it wasn't enough to make them collapse. How do you even demolish a high-rise that's now definitely structurally unstable?

Alexander's Dugin daughter has been blown up in her car

https://twitter.com/ObywateleRP/status/1561105522509627393

Dugin is most known for his crackpot theories on greater Russia and one of Putin's advisors.
His daughter was involved in politics too.

Dugin spotted at the scene, he was supposed to have been in the car.

Busy night,
3 GRU agents arrested trying to break into a weapons factory in Albania. They attacked 2 soldiers with some kind of Chemical.
Albania is a NATO member.

They entered as tourists, which is another big win for German Chancellor Scholz who was against banning Russians from entering the EU.

https://edition.cnn.com/2022/08/20/europe/darya-dugina-killed-car-explosion-alexander-dugin-russia-intl-hnk/index.html

Quote
Investigators have opened a criminal case into the murder of Darya Dugina, saying at around 9.00 p.m. local time on Saturday, near the village of "Bolshiye Vyazemy, an explosive device, presumably installed in the Toyota Land Cruiser, went off on a public road and the car caught fire," the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee said according to TASS.

"The female driver died at the scene. We established the identity of the deceased: it is journalist and political analyst Daria Dugina," it added in a post on Telegram.
Andrei Krasnov, head of the Russky Gorizont (Russian Horizon) social movement and a personal acquaintance of the woman's family, told TASS on Sunday that Dugina was killed when her car caught fire following an explosion.

Krasnov said he knew Dugina personally and that the car she was traveling in belonged to her father. He believed Alexander was the true target of the blast, or possibly both of them, Tass reported.

"It's her father's car," Krasnov told TASS. "Dasha (Darya) drives another car, but she drove his car today, and Alexander went separately."

This really raises a lot of questions, was it a political opponent or perhaps even Putin? Was it partisans or the FSB?

He's not wrong about that. The FSB was supposed to infiltrate the Ukrainian government and security forces on all levels so the war would quickly end. They spend billions to accomplish this.
In some ways they were succesful, such as demining the south and having one of Zelensky's negotiators work for them in secret.

But all in all they completely misread the situation on the ground or simply lied in their reports.

The fact that they blame 'Ukraine' and they don't have any more specifics shows that the Russians (or at least the propagandists) don't know what happened either.

i think a lot of net exporters of electricity in the EU are considering regulating domestic prices right now, which would probably mean that the exported electricity will get even more expensive (since people in countries with regulated prices will be less likely to reduce their energy consumption)

Ukraine has launched a counter offensive in Kherson.
According to some reports they've already breached the first line of the Russian defenses and Russian paratroopers (who are supposed to back-up the DNR/LNR ground forces) are fleeing the battlefield.

This attack comes after Putin offically took control of the army over the weekend, with commanders and generals reporting to him directly as opposed to defense minister Shoigu.

I don't think this is the big attack just yet, just early attempts to poke for weakpoints in the Russian defenses and make preperations for the big attack.

Putin looks happy  :lol

Zelensky confirms that Ukraine is attacking in the south to retake Kherson and drive out the Russians. He told the Russian soldiers to flee.
It will be interesting to see if they can actually liberate Kherson without a significant drain on resources.

The UA army has requested a media black-out as the operation is ongoing.
The Russians are of course boasting about Ukrainian losses and the counter attack failing.
But they are missing the point that Ukraine being able to launch a large scale offensive is a momentum shift in the war.
