You're joking but it makes more sense than risking failure or sanctions via Taiwan invasions. Siberia was annexed from China in the 1850s. Russia becoming a vassal state for China in exchange for Siberian land doesn't seem far fetched if the federation/government is toppled due to Ukraine.

It's a big fucking mess.

- Russian missiles flew over Moldovan air space
- German Consulate in Kyiv was hit by a rocket attack
- Russian troops arriving 'by the trainload' in Belarus after Lukashenko announces 'joint military operation'
- Kyiv is partially without power
- Poland advises its citizens in Belarus to leave the country

The Bank of England has warned of a "material risk" to financial stability as it made a fresh emergency move to try to calm investors.

It said it would buy more government bonds to try to stabilise their price and prevent a sell-off that could put some pension funds at risk of collapse.

It is the third time the Bank has had to step in since the government's mini-budget sparked alarm among investors.

It's all of Europe that's collapsing fast but on the continent everyone is too busy with ze war to notice.

Higher interest rates will kill the housing market and retirement funds.
Not raising interest rates will see inflation spiral out of control further.

And on top of that trolley problem there's the surging energy costs and a possible COVID return.

France stays on brand.

To my knowledge, the US never said it would use nukes either. From everything I've heard, the response would involve conventional weapons and/or extreme forms of sanctions. But not nukes.

I think some of you guys need some perspective. Nuking Russia is a really bad idea.

Yes, because France's doctrine (like many other countries) is to only consider the use nuclear weapons if its territory is attacked. Last I checked, Ukraine isn't part of France. What a dumb article.

Its or Germany's. Three years ago, France signed a treaty extending its nuclear shield to include Germany in case of armed aggression against Germany. In case any country attacks Germany, France will use any means at its disposal to help defend it, including the use of nuclear weapons.

The retaliatory threat from NATO has always been to wipe out Russian forces in Ukraine with conventional weapons, not to attack Russia with nukes...that would justify Russia sending its nukes back to NATO countries and would immediately trigger China and other nuclear countries to consider launching theirs. Macron is not undercutting anyone.

EDIT: Lol, Nintex, I love you dude, but your source is Business Insider which is basically live journal for idiots who fancy themselves journalists. There are basically zero editorial standards.

Nazi's

The nominative plural of "Nazi" is "Nazis". There is no apostrophe.

An apostrophe indicates the genitive case. Someting (or someone) belonging to something (or someone).
Singular: "The Nazi's hat" = "The hat of the Nazi"
Plural: "The Nazis' hats" = "The hats of the Nazis".

The way you continue to spell it is genitive singular.

You know, I was pretty uninvested in the whole Elon Musk thing. I'm not interested in his cars and he strikes me as a guy who is good at selling other people's ideas, but outside of his big battery in South Australia project, I didn't really pay much attention to him. The Twitter thing is a massive lol, but I can't say I've followed it outside of the drama.

However, this whole thing really turns my stomach and I'm officially on team Fuck Musk. What a piece of shit.

agreed, however as someone also trying not to be a weird techbro musk defender, I've been reading that the timeline has been fucked with in order to make it look like musk is being more retaliatory than in reality

this tweet says it comes "days after" the ambassador insulted him on october 3:

https://twitter.com/officejjsmart/status/1580782290849759232

but then you read this article:

https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/13/politics/elon-musk-spacex-starlink-ukraine/index.html

Quote
But those charitable contributions could be coming to an end, as SpaceX has warned the Pentagon that it may stop funding the service in Ukraine unless the US military kicks in tens of millions of dollars per month.

Documents obtained by CNN show that last month Musk’s SpaceX sent a letter to the Pentagon saying it can no longer continue to fund the Starlink service as it has. The letter also requested that the Pentagon take over funding for Ukraine’s government and military use of Starlink, which SpaceX claims would cost more than $120 million for the rest of the year and could cost close to $400 million for the next 12 months.

“We are not in a position to further donate terminals to Ukraine, or fund the existing terminals for an indefinite period of time,” SpaceX’s director of government sales wrote to the Pentagon in the September letter.

he announced his intention last month, september, not after being insulted

also, regarding the tweet at the bottom of last page, if ukrainians are paying for their own equipment and service, obviously that's entirely different from the units and service that had been donated

he's not threatening to cut off service from people who are paying for it, he's just not donating more

additionally, the ukrainian "diplomat" who told one of the country's wartime benefactors to fuck off is apparently a piece of shit himself:

https://web.archive.org/web/20221012135549/https://www.nytimes.com/2022/07/09/world/europe/ukraine-german-ambassador-andriy-melnyk.html

Quote
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, fired his ambassador to Germany, a week after the diplomat gave an interview in which he defended the legacy of a World War II nationalist leader who collaborated with the Nazis.

Andriy Melnyk, Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany since 2014, was one of the most recognized faces of the Ukrainian cause in Germany, never shying away from leveling fierce criticism of what many saw as Germany’s slow response to the Russian invasion and often provoking the ire of the country’s political elite.

But in an interview on the show Jung & Naiv, which streamed on YouTube on June 29, Mr. Melnyk defended the memory of Stepan Bandera, the leader of the far-right Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists during World War II. The nationalist group, which espoused fascist ideology, collaborated with German forces when they occupied Ukraine and some of those forces assisted in the mass murders of Poles and Jews.

I support ukraine but I also accept that there might be short-sighted assholes among them that cause more problems than they help
