And making everything a simple situation like that is why we have Trump and Bolsonaro.

What are his proposals to "fix the main issues"? I'd like to hear your outsider-insider version first before I consult the lamestream media. Or Glenn Greenwald who hates the guy.

There's no solid proposal. He's just not involved in any of the corruption scandals here, is promising to have liberal economy stances (his economy ministry is very good at least and doesn't have the stupid/insane ideas that Bolsonaro have) and has firm stances agains criminality. Then you'll have people that likes his overly conservative stances voting for him and people that aknowledges he's all those bad things but is turning a blind eye to that due to him being the only right wing/economic liberal candidate with chances to win.

And just to clarify, I'm not voting for him (at least not in the first phase. I'll gladly vote for him in the second phase if he's running against Lula's puppet).

Trump led with Mexicans are rapists, my dude. It takes some really tortured logic not to see that the racism is a plus for his base.

curly don't be a fucking moron. You can't win an election with only crazies. Trump didn't win just with racists bigots.

Bolsonaro will win because people are sick and tired of corruption, sick and tired of the immense violence. All that other dumb shit about LGBTQ and whatever else is to rally his base enough to support him, and then he takes a more moderate stance like he's already doing. There's 3 main issues: Violence/Crime, Corruption, and Economy.

Everything else at this moment is trivial. Putting another left wing socialist cunt in power is the worst thing that could happen to this country and so voting for someone like Bolsonaro might be the only option- this is why he has the support of virtually all educated males in the country.

Old, but I only learned of this recently:

"At the beginning of the Lybian conflict, authorities discovered and seized roughly $67 billion of Gaddafi's wealth hidden in bank accounts around the globe. England, France, Italy and Germany seized another $30 billion and the Obama administration found a staggering $37 billion in the United States. Investigators suspect that Gaddafi hid an additional $30 billion around the world."

fucking murder people so you can steal their money, brehs
They murdered Gadaffi to get elected (Sarkozy and Clinton did). Sid Blumenthal was frothing at the mouth at the thought of being her secretary of state after he made her 'own' Libya.

It basically went like this:
- The Europeans led by Sarkozy wanted to attack Gadaffi because oil, him trying to create a new African currency backed by his vast gold reserves and reasons
- The Europeans didn't have the firepower to sustain a bombing campaign for more than 2 days.
- Obama was opposed to acting in Libya as he feared another Iraq or worse, Afghanistan
- Sid Blumenthal told Clinton it was a great idea to tie her wagon to the Libyan cause. After all it would improve Obama's poll numbers and her stature
- Clinton convinced Obama into taking action in Libya. Military assured Obama it would be an easy victory
- Watered down UN resolution condemning Gadaffi and calling for a no fly zone passes with Russian and Chinese support
- US and EU (basically NATO) used the ambigious UN resolution to bomb Libya
- Russia protests
- Gadaffi flees, is spotted by NATO and bombed
- Rebels catch up with his bombed convoy and rape him on live TV and then murder him and throw him in a ditch
- "We came we saw he died" - Hillary Rodham Clinton

Also the western powers armed the 'popular uprising' much like they would in Syria.

Riksdag with the two alliances and the Swedish Democrats (yellow) in the middle:

Swedish Democrats: +13 seats (+4.7 points)
Centre: +9 (+2.3)
Left: +7 (+2.2)
Christian Democrats: +7 (+1.8)

Green Party: -10 (-2.6)
Social Democrats: -12 (-2.6)
Moderates: -13 (-3.5)

The two alliances:
The Alliance (Right leaners): +2 seats (+0.9 points)
Red-Greens (Left leaners): -15 seats (-2.9 points)

So, should be pretty fun...

This looks fucking depressing and creepy.
The EU government in Brussels is basically ResetEra in parliamentary form now.
They don't show up to vote and they REEEEE all day.

Today, apart from giving Juncker rhetorical blowjobs they could vent at Viktor Orban who was the main attraction.
As the entire parliament had a chance to vote on a motion to PUNISH Hungary for not doing what the crazy REEEEing Greens want.
The woman who filed the motion cried when it was adopted and someone filmed it with a fucking iPad.

Klassiskt liberala partiet ("The Classical Liberal Party") increased its number of votes for the fourth straight Swedish general election! A 25% increase over 2014! At this rate they'll be the largest party in Sweden when the Romulan War breaks out!

But in news weirdos care about:
Quote
The Sweden Democrats have stated they will vote for the candidate from the centre-right alliance bloc in Monday’s vote to confirm the new speaker of parliament.
The announcement means that Andreas Norlén of the Moderate party is expected to be chosen as parliamentary speaker.

“Of the two nominated candidates from the Social Democrats and Moderates, we have made the active choice to vote for the Moderate candidate. We believe the Moderates are the party best-placed to lead a government in any constellation, given the parliamentary situation,” Sweden Democrat (SD) leader Jimmie Åkesson said in a statement.

The SD leader said that attempts had been made “as far as possible in this situation” to follow the tradition of giving the speaker’s position to the largest party in government.

Usually, the speaker is a member of Sweden's largest political party or bloc, meaning that after the September 9th election, a Social Democrat candidate would have been expected.

The role is a key one, as it is the speaker who puts a proposal for the new prime minister to parliament.
Apparently the Social Democrats and The Alliance (right coalition) have discussed an Alliance minority with SocDem support in exchange for unspecific concessions. If only to try and head off the Swedish Democrats from doing more of this.

Disclaimer: I have past instances of misreading thelocal.se articles correctly.

In Assi's backyard, Bolsonaro's first round numbers have shot up since getting stabbed, so...keep that in mind if you ever want to run for President of Brazil.

On the other hand, so have Haddad's (Worker's Party...Lula/Dilma) so everybody wins!

The best thing this country could do would be to vote for Alkmin, but since this country is filled with idiots that won't happen. So, the next best thing to do to avoid a total shit show would be to stay somewhat moderate and vote for Ciro, which is probably what i should do for the sake of better odds.

But this is Brazil. This is going to get ugly and so we will have Bolsonoaro and Haddad in the second round for sure.

From the head-to-head polling there is a suggestion that nobody truly likes the idea of Haddad and Bolsonaro as their two choices, they'd prefer someone else be the other candidate or both, but they aren't decided enough on who to advance that other candidate to the second round. Almost as if for lots of voters who do like Haddad or Bolsonaro but would never even consider the other, their second choices are generally Gomes/Alckmin/Silva to where those candidates could plausibly win the second round but they aren't ever going to get there.

The French may claim to have some tips for dealing with this but don't trust em!

Manuel Valls, former socialist prime minister of France, current member of French parliament... Is apparently planning to run for mayorship in Barcelona (yes that one in Catalunya). I couldn't presume to be an expert on Spanish politics, but as far as I know he doesn't have a strong political network there and he's already caught some verbal flak (by Puigdemont : "He's legally entitled to be candidate but he doesn't know the city. He knows France. To judge the man, just listen to what French citizens think of him", to paraphrase. As you would guess, Valls isn't terribly popular here). He was born there and I guess he has personal history with the city but it's hard to imagine he has any chance and it feels a bit arrogant to insert one self like this... Valls has never insulted his heritage, quite the contrary, but he's also always have been pretty aggressively French, in that tone of France being the vanguard for universalism and the Rights of Men, revolutionary prototypes for citizens of the world, secularism and national security.

I don't know what to think of it. Could be the height of hubris, could be exemplary Europeanism, probably both. Maybe he figures he has a chance because of the agitated situation (the recent autonomist crisis is out of the spotlight and on the backburner without having been really closed).
