I'd like to see more, too, but my focus in on SC right now since it's out in a few weeks and the beta test was fun as fuck- had so much more fun playing it that all of the time I've spent with Tekken 7 combined. Have always liked SC more than Tekken and I'm glad this entry is looking to be a blast despite some shortcomings.

Our house put a ludicrous amount of time in on DC SC...was over 700 hours when we lost save the first time, then another 500+. GI like tennis volleys, although it was more forgiving back then.

Wouldn't even call this an "anime fighter." It's more along the lines of being one of those "arena fighter" type games that are basically Gundam Vs. Gundam without the mechs.

Of all the ones I've played, only Nintendo got it right with ARMS, which is a hell of a lot of fun.

Anime fighter was the wrong term. I meant that in the sense of licensed anime fighting games, as in a literal anime fighter. Those are rarely good. They’re cheap fun and little else and that’s ok.

It looks like an updated version of J-Stars Victory VS., which wasn't very good. But One Piece Burning Blood, which was also similar in style, actually turned out kinda OK. When I look at this game I get more of a J-Stars vibe though.

I try to be nice and not say,”this game will be shit” because it’s not cool to bag on fighting games others like all the time and I think a lot in the fgc are trying to be more positive and accepting towards other games even if they don’t like them.

Depends. Lots of people are trying to be more positive and accepting towards other games. You’ve got Mike Ross and Combofied playing Guilty Gear. Street Fighter V sucking forced people to branch out. It’s why I try to not shit talk other peoples games and I haven’t said a word about jump stars before this page. I can’t speak for others but I just didn’t want to be a spoil sport.

For me it’s not just about tournaments but is it a question of whether a game is “fair” or “balanced”. A dude hitting you with a super ON HIT, from that distance, is bullshit. It doesn’t scream “fair” to me which will make it hard for me to get into. But that’s me.

Jump Force was confirmed to be running at 30 FPS on XB1/PS4. Arena fighters are tricky to make feel good in the first place. Doubly so if you're going add 'depth' to it. Jump Force isn't even trying for the 'feel good' part of the equation.

Yes, it's nice n' solid. Have read some complaints about input lag when playing online (on consoles) but it felt fine to me. It definitely looks and plays better (online) on PC though.

I would have been playing it like crazy this past weekend but I ended up spending most of my time on Warriors Orochi 4.

My Hero One's Justice seems pretty shallow, but is still kinda fun and looks really nice. The load times (on Switch) are pretty awful, however- it's like going back to the PS1 days. Maybe worse.
