Apparently at some point, MBS called up Jared Kushner because he couldn't understand why people were upset over this. When you're turning to Jared Kushner for answers, you know you fucked up.

You just have to wonder where MBS got the idea to put the king in front a TV that ran nothing but positive news about the King and Saudi Arabia in an attempt to keep the king occupied.

Saudi Twitter is also something to behold. All sorts of fund managers and thinktank bigwigs tweeting out stuff like:
"WOW this has been such a valuable experience for our country"
"Now our politics can finally mature and the country can heal from this tragedy"
"Even in death Khashoggi has done our country a great service he should be remembered for this!"

I wouldn’t be surprised to find out there are Russian Facebook posts that started it.

But I also believe that these caravans are actually not unusual. The trip is dangerous and there are a lot of criminals that try to take advantage of the migrants, so iirc they have been traveling in large groups for a while. Trump is just acting like this is unusual.

I suspect that there will be no mass caravan arriving at the us border, as I believe they tend to disperse over time.

The people might still show up, but not all in one big group.
