https://slate.com/business/2019/06/elizabeth-warren-debate-single-payer-medicare-for-all.htmlHm, just Warren and de Blasio. Wonder if we'll see the opposite tonight with the majority trying to take on Sanders and be "more" M4A than him?
https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/06/elizabeth-warren-democratic-debate.htmlInteresting line:
Yes, the position of abolishing private insurance might cost her in the long run, but her co-sponsorship of Sanders’ legislation already ensured that Republicans would use that particular attack against her.
So:
1. I don't know why Sanders supporters were saying she was waffling on this, considering the election is also still 400 days out, and especially considering that co-sponsorship. I guess when the candidate is relatively spotless on policy otherwise, you have to take what scraps you can?
2. On the other hand, if the Republicans were going to needle her with a past vote and supporting Sanders on it anyways, she probably could have afforded to be more forcefully "pro" the issue before now.
That said, maybe it was a calculated move to hold off on "having a plan" for what many consider the top election issue, until she was being televised to the whole nation. People would not only learn of her position, but you'd also have pundits going "Wow she actually spoke up about it"... like they're doing right now.
Possible fourth-dimension chess?
