The court ruled 6-3 to entirely strike down a longstanding U.S. ban on trademarks on “immoral” or “scandalous” words and symbols, ruling that the prohibition violated constitutional free speech rights in a case involving the streetwear brand “FUCT.” Three justices (Roberts, Breyer, Sotomayor) said part of the law was valid.

Bernie is the only candidate who would actually make PR and DC states and add 10 new judges to the SC.

If you're not supporting Bernie, you are enabling Trump.

They're obviously waiting for the second half of the debate first for a full hearing of all the issues.

There are two illegitimate judges on the bench.

While polonium is always an option, I am ok with Bernie simply adding two new seats. He's a good man, no need to get his hands dirty.

Maria Bartiromo is on Fox Business now? Wild, she seemed so stereotypically sober back in the day on CNBC.
She's been on Fox Business for over five years. When CNBC/NBC was imploding during 2008-2011 Fox was buying up all kinds of people to try and twist the knife.

Yes benji, I haven't watched either of those channels in that period of time. Be sure to tell us if Indonesia is at a crossroads.

https://slate.com/business/2019/06/elizabeth-warren-debate-single-payer-medicare-for-all.html

Hm, just Warren and de Blasio. Wonder if we'll see the opposite tonight with the majority trying to take on Sanders and be "more" M4A than him?

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/06/elizabeth-warren-democratic-debate.html

Interesting line:

Quote
Yes, the position of abolishing private insurance might cost her in the long run, but her co-sponsorship of Sanders’ legislation already ensured that Republicans would use that particular attack against her.

So:

1. I don't know why Sanders supporters were saying she was waffling on this, considering the election is also still 400 days out, and especially considering that co-sponsorship. I guess when the candidate is relatively spotless on policy otherwise, you have to take what scraps you can?

2. On the other hand, if the Republicans were going to needle her with a past vote and supporting Sanders on it anyways, she probably could have afforded to be more forcefully "pro" the issue before now.

That said, maybe it was a calculated move to hold off on "having a plan" for what many consider the top election issue, until she was being televised to the whole nation. People would not only learn of her position, but you'd also have pundits going "Wow she actually spoke up about it"... like they're doing right now.

Possible fourth-dimension chess? :thinking

If you're going to critique a candidate, maybe base it on what they've done instead of pointlessly speculating about what they might do.

Not to be too cynical, but even if somehow every bank in America did the same, there are more than enough banks globally that are more than happy to do so. Bank of.America probably is a major shareholder of some of them.

You left in the "and" at the end though, a good selective quoter would have chopped that off so people assumed that's all I said on the issue 👌🏻

Can't wait for six months down the line when Bernie's on his last legs.

The argument there was "Why were Sanders supporters doubtful of Warren's stance on single-payer?" and the crux of that ("especially") was her past voting record, where she co-sponsored legislation with Sanders.

Which honestly should hold more weight than online "will she won't she" speculation, but it is what it is.

Castro throwing a shoutout to trans women while defending the woman's right to choose to have an abortion is peak identity politics and I'm glad I witnessed it live
https://theslot.jezebel.com/julian-castro-gets-abortion-right-1835892542
Quote
While Castro admittedly stumbled a bit when talking about trans women and abortion, the fact that he centered the fact that trans and nonbinary people must be included in any discussion of reproductive justice is something we haven’t heard before on a presidential debate stage. Even the simple change of “a person’s right to choose” felt revelatory. It shouldn’t be groundbreaking for a presidential candidate to acknowledge that reproductive justice necessarily includes trans people, but it is.

My new ranking system:

Can save America from destruction tier
-Bernie

Will keep us on the path to destruction but maybe delay things 2-3 years
- Warren

Will expedite the destruction and are the same as Trump
-All other candidates

Worse than Trump
-Gillibitch
-De Blasio

Yet another example of Cory's masterful performance:
Quote from: presumptive nominee Cory Booker, on his way to the debate landslide victory
This is why I said well before running for President I said I would not take contributions from pharma companies, [would] not take contributions from corporate PACs or pharma executives — because they are part of this problem.
Quote
According to OpenSecrets, while Booker was running for office in 2014, he received a total of $323,500 from pharmaceutical/health product lobbying — the most among all Democratic senators and the second-most overall. In 2016, he received $57,500 from pharmaceutical PACs.

The progressive senator faced heavy scrutiny in January 2017 after voting against a bill, sponsored by fellow presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, aimed at lowering drug prices. A Booker spokesman told Vox that it was due to “concerns over the ‘safety standards’ of the prescription drugs that would be coming in from Canada under the amendment.” In spite of that response, some critics attributed his move to his large number of pharma donors.

After the criticism he faced in 2017 following his opposition to Sanders’ bill, Booker elected to “pause” taking donations from drug companies.
