Glen dude, My wife and I were the same way. Knew each other in high school, had all that background with her when we finallly started our romantic relationship. It's really amazing how much that solid foundation changes things. My wife's family always wanted us to get together, so when I resurfaced in her life they were like "Don't screw it up this time!" to her. It might be the same for you. I know quite a few successful relationships that started that way. Person moves back to their home town after college/divorce and hooks up with a sibling's friend (or a friend's sibling). It's a great way to have familiarity with someone, but there is still a lot to learn because you don't really "know" them.

I'm SO glad I don't have to deal with online dating. One of my friends was showing me her dating profile and I was like "Who's that?" when she showed me her pictures. They were so filtered/shopped it barely looked like her at all. She told me all her friends did that. When I brought up that I got "facebook angles" and all that but this was making her look like Kim Kardashian on a good day when she looks more like a lunch lady in real life, it's a whole other level, and that might be why she wasn't getting second dates. She then proceeded to show me the dating profiles of our common friends and out of the five she showed me I was only able to recognize one of them.

Mobile App dating was a mistake.

This morning she asked me if I had a long day today for work, and if I was still watching my show on Netflix, that she was amped for her exams, so I just normally responded. I also said hey we should grab some drinks next week sometime in the city.
