Basically, I've become much more hedonistic and he's remained somewhat ascetic.

Honestly the take away and the advice I'd have for the youngins here is even if you suck at dating, don't give up and stick with dating in your 20s because 20-30 is your prime chance to meet your lifelong partner and if you're dumb like me and don't date during most of that you'll end up with a big handicap against you in dating from that point on. 30-35 is still doable but your'e running out of time there, so your best bet is to get married by 30ish.
