Yeah, I think you need to do another lap on your rollerblades and come back to this.

Bill Maher Banned then Warned for promoting non-Yum! Brands fried chicken establishments
User banned:(2 weeks) Dismissing racist stereotypes and history of derailing threadsQuoteHe could have picked any other cheap fast food restaurant chain but he had to pick one of the two that invoke negative stereotypes when referencing black people.Agreed. He could have said "Burger King" or "a corner bodega" or something, and the joke would have worked just as well. But again, that's why I'm saying that the joke here isn't racist, he just happened to pick a loaded reference. It might be a stereotype that he's trying to think of an urban neighborhood with back alleys and "Popeye's chicken" is the first business that pops into his head. But that's not about Hurd or Hurd's race as much as a general idea of inner cities, and it's also not offensive on the same level.

Let's play guess which word is being referred to, and who is the posterQuoteUggghhhh. Americans (i'm assuming you are) really need to pull your collective heads out of your arses, when it comes to this word. Whenever somebody uses it, you act like they committed a fucking war crime. Is it a harsh word ? Yes. But Christ, get your priorities in order.Also. Some of us who use it aren't from the U.S. And it doesn't have the same taboo as it does there. So please stop trying to impose your cultural norms on the rest of us.Sorry if i went a bit too harsh on you. It's just i'm so fucking sick of this. Every time it's used on this forum, regardless of who it's directed at. People complain.Again, sorry. I truly am.

The anti anime left actually has sense in their heads.
Yes. The actual creators. Not just the scrub ass fan base on either side of a political divide. You keep edging in terms of ownership. Huh.Tell me. What is "people that were there in the beginning?" What does that mean? Cos you keep telling me that I just don't know, but I bet I've got the years to say that I do.
But no ownership over anyone else.
It's funny to me how people that pay historically the lowest for anime with subscriptions and not tape purchases that fund these subpar productions because that's all they watch want to claim ownership. Good for us, but not them. Yet there they are.
Alright. Obviously something I said got into your craw. I've responded enough. Read back on what I've said, it's that easy. Let the creators control the narrative (and the audience).
All of that. That's just you. I said what I meant to say. You keep adding to it like you can't just read what is in front of you and need to beef it up.I'm just going to go watch something and it won't be some dumbass online political contest.

INFORMATIONAs some of you have already noticed, we have a significant cosmetic update for you today: The homepage has been renovated to make the Hangouts sections more visible, with their own unique custom icons/graphics! Their relationship with the "main" forum sections is maintained through color coordination and a shared naming scheme. Descriptions have been added or tweaked on desktop for clarity. On mobile, we have drastically reduced the vertical space required by each node for a much cleaner look. The side navigation and Quick Jump have also been adjusted accordingly and should now be much easier to understand at a glance and for new users.
I think that this happened a few houses away and you didn't know for 2 months says more about you tbh
I would’ve preferred keeping the links in the Quick Jump menu shorter. At a glance Etcetera Forum and Etcetera Hangouts look the same so it’s taking me an extra second or two to identify that Forum is the one I want.
Yeah, I don’t love the sidebar change on mobile. Messes with my muscle memory and even with a quick glance I keep ending up in the wrong place.
Just want to chip in my thoughts that I think the old names were better. Having two boards in the Quick Jump or navigation sidebar start with the same word in a row feels unnecessarily confusing to the brain at a quick glance.
I really wish all the categories didn't say "forum" or "threads" now, just seems kinda redundant, and it really makes them all blend together on the side bar now when before I could just click at a glance.
Anyone else getting a double ad movement on mobile? You refresh the page, and it bumps down to load an add, then it moves back up because there wasn't an ad?
autisty transtards
I don't think this is the right move to prove to congress that your team mates aren't anti-semitic. If anything it puts a target on AOC for those very same charges, and unlike Tlaib and Omar, Corbyn has legit issues with anti-semitism in both with Corbyn himself and Labour after he got elected.
AOC's chief of staff, Saikat Chakrabarti, tweeted to get AOC to meet up with Rabbi Schmuley - a controversial rabbi and failed Republican politician, before deleted it. He may be a brilliant IT specialist but he can't keep doing controversial shit like this, it's going to tarnish AOC by association and confuse people about where she stands politically on important and complex issues.
confuse people about where she stands politically on important and complex issues
This is all from the backlash she got from talking to Corbyn, the literal embodiment of antisemitism. Team AOC needs to step up!
AOC not having staffed up with at least some experienced Capitol Hill people seems to be increasingly a liability for her she really doesn't need.
True, but I was specifically discussing him as a liability unto himself. He hasn't got AOC's tact or flexibility, he makes this worse when she has enough to deal with with her own faults, and I'm sure he's encouraging them. I swear, the dude makes her look like a centrist shill ideologically. She's a social Democrat, he's a full blown communist/anarchist. He's the left equivalent of an edge lord who is defined by being an outsider and giving the system the finger at every opportunity.
I agree, team AOC's mishandling of the whole "Corbyn is the literal embodiment of antisemitism and you should not talk to him" backlash is quite messy. It would've taken only take a few seconds for Saikat to google who they are interacting with. And yes, she kinda looked like centrist by appeasing to a person who believes in the development and protection of a Jewish nation but at least she handled that with tack and professionalism.

QuoteI think it's exactly the opposite -- hip hop is so much bigger and more popular than rock that it takes up most of the spotlight. People aren't as aware of the stuff with those rock musicians because they don't listen to that music, they've never heard them say the shit. They listen to rap though. Those are just the lyrics they hear.I think people are missing that this is mostly a coalition issue for the same reason Northam needs to step down while McConnell can be Mr. Smiles in front of a Confederate flag. The metropolitan multiracial coalition of the left half of the US political spectrum is gonna police itself harder, while it doesn't have that power over white conservatives.

The people being banned either didn't read the educational material offered to them in the very first post, or they decided that learning was stupid.
YikesBangalore is a city in India, not really cool to make fun of names just because they sound foreign to you
QuoteExactly what is the point of banning people for transphobia born of ignorance if doing so prevents them from being exposed to precisely the sort of information that could induce a little personal growth?Maybe educate yourself if you want to have a discussion? Why the fuck should any of us be responsible when they have the ability to look at the numerous studies that have been conducted about this very subject?

Except there are plenty of people that come into threads, ignore all posts including stickied mod posts and decide to shit up the thread with their ignorance. If you want discussion, people need to read the actual fucking content of the discussion. If they can't be bothered to do that, they can go look shit up themselves after they get banned.Discussion requires a bare minimum of education and it's very clear based on many of the posts here that it's lacking. People posting shit like "common sense" is not discussion.
I have a problem with the evidence posted in the OP. It’s simply a review article based on people reading other scientific articles. Only two of those articles reviewed were experimental. You can’t use this as evidence when you then have to search for the evidence’s evidence.
I wonder how long they'd hold up this argument if a Female to Male transgender person would want to compete in the Female competition. He should be able to crush the competition, but using their arguments, he should compete in the Female category.
China number 1.

Genetic advantages imply the hormone they received before transition. In the IOC case it is counting no matter whatever the person went though the wrong puberty or not. Should be noted that in the future most trans woman will not go, reducing even more the arguments of bigots. In a normal transition for a trans woman, the hormones are completely changed to the regular levels of cis woman. It is not uncommon for testosterone levesl to end lower than regular for cis women since the idea is to kill it's production. We can have a discussion about it in the same way we can have a discussion about global warming. Every scientific evidence (including the real life experinces of people here on this thread) points to being bullshit. It is only a complex problem because we live in a transphobic world.
Hold on, so he is a natural born citizen and they are trying to claim he’s there illegally? That’s impossible.Goodness grief, America becomes more of a joke with each passing day.
Yeah, everything about his bio says he was born in Atlanta, GA. There’s nothing in there about him being from the U.K.
I went through his Wikipedia and absolutely no mention of the UK whatsoever.
I don't understand how he's not a US Citizen. His Wikipedia says he was born in Atlanta Georgia.
Rock music is fucking dead. It doesn’t matter at all in 2019 beyond nostalgia, and people under 50 are not listening to old ass conspiracy theory Billy Corgan or any heavy metal. Not that I think kids are learning to be homophobic or sexist from rap, it’s YouTube they’re getting that from
Here's another thing....The US loves to present itself as the land of opportunity, the "American Dream", all that bullshit...They're deporting someone who has contributed in a big way to it's arts and culture landscape, and obviously pumped a lot of money into the economy. This literally makes no sense on any level.
wow you're literally trying to erase her from society
