I'm sure they shot up the UPS truck because it is brown. If it was a FedEx truck they likely would have let it escape.  :doge

Basically what they are saying is if you are not part of the marginalized group the thread is about, stay out or eat a ban.

LGBT threads for LGBT members only
Threads about black people are for black people only, BCT members in particular.
A thread about women? Men stay the fuck out!

Reee is actually advocating becoming more segregated, ironically enough  :lol
Era's definition of sexuality and gender is so vague, that any thread is open to anyone, though. :rollsafe
Whether you're an asexual that loves sex, or a gay man who's only into women.

I can't quite get why acknowledging Sasha Grey was a very famous pornstar (if a bit overrated) was sexist. I mean, Resetera can't let go off some out-of-context quotes some minor Internet personality said eight years ago but saying Sasha Grey did porn is sexist?

Oh god.  Hobbes is gonna become trans now after being black didn't work out so well.

Nup, just before his ban he was trying to care dad the trans community but got rejected by the frightwigs. So the trans angle is out. He's probably thinking about making a good ole suicide thread and spinning that into care dadding the mental community. It's risky though because KetKat sits on the mental's throne and has strong support from the kingdom of frightwigs.

So, uh, if what I just heard is accurate, not only is FeistyBoots a troll, but he (yes he identifies as male) is not the only one with some degree of visibility.

I have a friend in the TransEra discord that is aware of 4 other posters excluding Feisty in there that are total trolls, 2 of which are high profile posters. Out of all 5 of these alleged trolls, only 1 is actually trans/nb, and she's apparently the biggest edgelord of them all.

FeistyBoots is the only name I've been given since my friend wants to see how far the others can take it and she thinks he's laying it on way too thick and is probably going to get exposed soon anyway. And no, I'm not going to name my friend either since she actually does like it in there even if she acknowledges it gets heavy handed at times.

Of course she could also be totally fucking with me here. Wouldn't be the first time. I asked her if I could post it here and she said yeah since it would be funny (I know you're reading this, lol). I guess we'll see what happens and if they ever get exposed.
Wow at this alt-right smear against a key leader of TransEra who was at The Summit which SweetNicole opened with a foreward. This is yet another attempt by the gators to spread myths like that Enzom21 was a poster or that the ads on ResetERA.com are a problem or that an LLC can have a single owner.

This definitely makes the calls for summits more important than ever.

If this is true then how much of this thread and that Neogaf thread and all the other places on the other “hate sites”  :brain is just people reacting to trolls?

lol

I’m only laughing at the people agreeing with the troll  :snob

They pretty much branded it as shameful past that can't be alluded to which is quite ironic.
This is the part that made it extra funny. Her name isn't Sasha Grey! That's a stage name. You pick a stage name in porn so you can drop it and disappear. She dropped porn but kept the stage name and uses it for everything from normal acting to music to writing sex-romance novels to these gaming streams. So even if you knew nothing about her, it's clear she doesn't find it shameful. If you do know anything about her she has long talked about how she did porn because it was fun to her. She does want to be known for more than porn but she's never said she regrets it or spoken ill of it other than when she was backing up some fellow people in that whole "feminist porn" thing. And then they were never condemning porn, but simply industry practices at the time.

It's another example of where they ape progressive things they've seen without ever looking into any of it and then just come off as prudes. Nobody in the thread was condemning "sex work" they were making joking references to someone famous for a lot of things that aren't simple "sex work" as Sasha was fucking nuts* in porn. Yet somebody clearly got butthurt about it and had to protect the wommins who are not Sasha Grey. This isn't even accounting for the fact that the rule is most likely there because there are ResetERA.com users who make shitty porn under the same username they use on ResetERA.com since I can't imagine a situation in which users on a "progressive forum" would be "condemning sex work" in a way that wouldn't be triggering to some Westerner. You would never be banned for condemning third world sex work that's essentially slavery would you?

Plus the jokes were even incredibly tame, especially for the topic, I'm sure non-pornstar lady streamers have seen worse comments. Especially from capital-G Gamers of which there are none allowed on ResetERA.com.

*Even her Wikipedia page notes that she got famous for asking a co-star to punch her in the stomach during filming. She was always up for crazy shit.

I had a buddy who got in trouble because somebody ran up to attack the truck he was driving and he fired out the window to stop the attack. This broke the ROE and he finished his military career as a specialist. Meanwhile we get to see videos of cops breaking the rules, killing someone, and they get paid vacations for it.

Wild.
Stricter rules despite the people involved being much likelier to explode than to just be wielding a very, very blurry and scary phone.

Apparently, on reddit anyway, the driver/hostage was crawling out of the UPS van before the firing started. So they lit him up anyway. WTF.
I'm also pretty sure you'd at least be reprimanded for wasting ammo and being awful shots as the police do. Look up the car in Miami, that stopped and had surrendered, that the police then fired like over 300 rounds at and hit ten times or something. There's how many instances of police unloading all their ammo and hitting only other police.

Like a decade ago there was one car that ran a checkpoint in Iraq and the MPs or whatever shot it up (with far far fewer rounds expended), they all got reprimanded for how they handled it as the car had made it through the checkpoint and was obstinately driving away. They were, in theory, supposed to have let it go but they continued firing at it. IIRC, it wouldn't have mattered much as they had killed the driver with the first few shots. It was still a BIG DEAL thing. And I guess they were legit insurgents and car had weapons and such in it.

Cops want to play military and use all the gear and equipment but without any of the rules/guidelines/training that the military still follows pretty strictly. (Even when they're waiving all kinds of other rules to get people into uniform, they thankfully tend to not skirt the rules so much after they get them.)

What if there are dozens in a thread, which can happen if there's a fast-moving, controversial thread. Do we wait for users to try to engage each and every single one before we decide to ban them?

If we do this for each and every bigoted or inflammatory post, what does that mean to the minorities who have to read and endure these posts?

Pardon my bluntness, but this is a silly and entirely impractical idea for a lot of reasons. If someone breaks the terms of service or posting guidelines in a way that merits a ban, they should be banned. Period. That's not 'being trigger-happy', that's enforcing the rules of the forum. Adding arbitrary waiting times on top of that only serves to lengthen thread derailments, increase hostility, and burden the communities most directly affected by the behavior. This "I'm sure I can convince them to stop engaging in the ban-worthy behavior they already engaged in!"-idea is silly. How long should staff have to wait before banning someone who engaged in a ban-worthy offense? How many people should 'get the chance to convince them' before staff can finally ban them? One? Two? Three? As many as you deem it necessary for each individual case? What if nobody shows up to 'defuse the situation'? Now think about how all this immensely complicates moderation on the staff side, necessitating moderators to monitor one specific thread for an arbitrary amount of time to see if anyone shows up to 'convince' or 'defuse' the one specific user in question, thus diverging their attention away from the rest of the forum. How long should they let these types of discussions play out for? What if the user does not respond? Should the user be banned only if they explicitly and harshly double down, or should they be allowed a third chance to retract? What if one user's ban-worthy behavior feeds into another user engaging in similar ban-worthy behavior in part due to an apparent lack of moderator action? Should staff just allow threads to be derailed to be entirely about this one person's behavior? Should one person's determination to 'defuse' the situation overrule all other participants of the thread? Should staff burden vulnerable communities with having to 'defuse' behavior that harms them before they ban the user engaging in that behavior?

There's absolutely been times where people have been engaged by others by the time staff got their eyes on a situation, and in those situations, that engagement is absolutely taken into account in weighing how long - or even if - a person should be banned, but it is entirely impractical to expect a blanket policy of a mandatory and arbitrary waiting time for each and every ban, not to mention that it makes the communities most directly affected by the behavior feel less safe and secure on this forum.

When I see staff members, both former and current, talk about how much time they spend moderating the forum and how much of a toll that is or was on them, it does make me wonder if maybe you should have more staff members than you do? Mist mentioned earlier in here that some staff spent their entire day yesterday going through reports, and I feel like if you had more people, then that load could be lightened and perhaps it wouldn't cause you all to spend hours and hours of your day going through reports.

40 staff for over 48,000 members seems like a really low number to me, less than 0.1%, and when I see people saying that they spend most of their days helping to moderate the forum, that makes me worry that you are all burning yourselves out really fast trying to keep up with everything you need to deal with here on a daily basis. This forum is big, tons of posts and threads are made each day, and you're all doing great work keeping up with it as is, but it still doesn't sound healthy to me in the long run, it just seems like a disproportionate amount of stress is being placed on you all to me, and that makes me worry about you

I once read a whole bunch of the Wikipedia articles of porn stars back before they cleaned them out for being too detailed, but I totally am not the porn hound others here are. Sasha Grey's entry is kinda more like how they all used to be as they used to be sourced from all kinds of porn fan sites/interviews/etc. that now isn't allowed.

The only other one I can claim any special knowledge about is Bobbi Starr because she got a music degree and became a classically trained oboe player before swerving into porn and the jokes write themselves, also she's in this video naming non-Mario games:

I remember NeoGAF.com had a BIG DEAL over some porn star who was playing a hardcore strategy-RPG game on PSP. But I don't remember the game or the girl. From searching a list of PSP games Jeanne d'Arc sounds familiar for its obscurity. And now I've found the who: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/934454-jeanne-darc/40772401 (Jenna Haze)

Does this mean you're leaving?
Huh? What kind of conclusion is this? Someone pours out her concern, and you suddenly ask her to leave? Who are you? North korea leader?? It is very ironic though, you oppose nk's government system, and you act like one.

If one is at fault, it is better to point out the mistakes hoping she will be better in the future rather harrassing her

Huh? A private forum to nk? No no no darling, you misunderstand. I dont compare this forum to nk, but i compare that Kree guy to nk. There is a difference.

upgraded to a perm for 'doubling down'.

Boy, they sure showed him how wrong he was when he said he's been banned because a mod held an opinion and any diversion from it no matter how calmly or politely reasoned can and will be actioned as something its not, when he was banned for racism in that whole 'woman cosplaying as a shark ghost man is blackface' thread.

I mean wasn’t Harlequin initially talking about the general processes and procedures of the moderation team; an open discussion which they have welcomed with recent events? And a mod then brought Harlequin’s personal posting history into it as a way to shut them down?

NOPE 100% COMPLETELY WRONG FAKE NEWS

I guess there is a weird subset of Orgy fans who mostly only like this new Orgy. They fight in the comments of stuff with old fans who gave up after Punk Static Paranoia sometimes.

They played a bunch of old stuff (that wasn't "Fiction") a few months ago and Jay didn't sound twenty years older in the slightest:
awful sound quality of live show

Hey what’s with some mods changing to TLJ themed avatars and tags?

If you were unfamiliar with the sites history with Daddy Disney you might just assume the staff are getting some of that mid-nations-GPD sized star wars marketing money to shill for it.

As it is, its just as likely that all the mods are all lock step in consensus about how super amazing new star wars is and all changed their avatar to disprove that groupthink they definitely don't have
