I'm still processing the Hans Zimmer concert. Just as I come across this video.VIDEO Hearing the DUNE theme live was incredible. They had all those weird self-made instruments and the actual vocalist at the concert (she actually did Gladiator too (after just an afternoon of practice) because Lisa had tested positive for COVID). But there was also a version of the Dark Knight theme with probably the deepest bass I've ever felt in my life and it just kept getting louder and louder. In fact the entire building was literally shaking. And once you had processed all that he brought out a different vocalist who had discovered during practice she could sing as high pitched as a violin. Unlike the previous concert I went to in 2017 which was great too but with a simple structure of a song a bit of talk about the movie it was from and then another song, this was truely as Zimmer called it a big celebration of music. In 2017 he had an orchestra of about ~70 people this time there weren't as many performers but it was the 'official' Hans Zimmer band with the guitarist, flautist, vocalists etc. . The stage and light effects were insane too. I hope the Amsterdam performance is the version they use for the Blu Ray release even though Lisa wasn't there. For the previous Blu Ray release they used the 2016 Prague recording, which was missing a few songs he did in Amsterdam in 2017 with special guests. For example, the Wonder Woman theme was performed live in Amsterdam for the first time by Tina Guo but missing from the BD release as well as a few solo performances and guest appearances. They were filming on stage at the Amsterdam event but I couldn't tell if it was just for promotion or the Blu-Ray. I imagine they would have to make a few cuts for the international release though, like the part where he trashed the Oscars and Will Smith and used phrases like 'that was fucking amazing' after a crazy guitar solo.
