I was pretty close to going, and if I had actually studied seriously and gotten a little bit better LSAT score, I might have gone due to getting into a T14 school. I probably would have failed out by now if I had. But the only reason it was an option is because I would have had family financial help.

I think it's worth doing if you really really want to be a prosecutor or defense attorney or do pro bono work for the poor or something. If you have a burning passion for justice, go for it!

If you're just doing it to get a paycheck, it's not worth going to law school unless you are networked with people who will hook you up with a good job for sure when you are done. I sorta have that...sorta, but for me "good job" is going to be one that pays the bills. Probably 60k starting for the first few years until I can hopefully get to around six figures. Which will still be better off than my other law school grad friends who've either been out of work for 1-2 years since graduating and passing the bar or who've been working volunteer "I don't get paid" jobs because there's just no paid law jobs hiring in this economy.

Oh well, got 1 subject down today. 11 more left to become mad skilled in over the next 12 days or so before the test.

It's not like this is impossible. I just knew it wasn't for me, considering I couldn't even buckle down and concentrate on getting an insane score on the LSAT, which I know I'm capable of. I didn't even do a full practice exam. Luckily, I have a BS Applied Math/Stats degree, which is worth a bit more than a BA in General Studies.

Also, going by the people I know in law school, and my undergrad drinking habits, I would have probably died from alcohol poisoning.

Just booked all my vacation days for the year. I always mean to do this early so I can look forward to 'em, but lack of organization prevails. Not this year though! Also: because I work for a global team, no-one else is competing with me for the Japanese national holidays, so I have wrapped them all around said national holidays for maximum consecutive days off.

This curious alchemy results in the following, using 19 of 20 available vacation days:

3 days straight - 7x
4 days straight - 2x
5 days - 2x
9 days - 1x
10 days - 2x

Random days off midweek (my birthday/daughter's birthday)- 2x
