Fighting EX Layer resolution =

I feel like I'm playing a 3DS game at 240P on my TV.   

Resolution aside, it looks good for a low budget 'old school' game.  And it feels pretty old school, too.  Didn't like EX back in the day?  You're gonna hate this.

I went online and it's a mixed bag, but it's also unfinished, so can't judge the connection quality yet.  Out of the current six man roster, I did the best with MR. DARUN MEISTER.  The grapplers in EX games are awesome.

The Fighting EX Layer resolution thing is actually a bug that happens if you use a PS4 Pro and have the resolution set to auto or 4K.

Messed with it a bit. It's a neat game that plays pretty well online and loads really goddamn fast. I like being able to change characters in the pause menu in training mode too. Really only fiddled with Allen and Darun. It definitely seems like a neat game that I'll never touch again. Not any fault of the game, there's just too much else going on with other fighters and other games in general. Maybe after I eventually get fed up with SFVAE.

I do find it weird that everyone is jocking this game's versions of gems after bashing Capcom so hard for the same thing, but whatever.

Buy it up there and then there will be an option to download it to your PS4. If your PS4 is on or in rest mode it will auto download. Otherwise it will download next time it is online.

IIRC the season passes just give you the characters and their alternate outfits (you still have to earn the story ones) and colors...and that's it.

Not necessarily. Arcade perfect != just straight arcade port. Or else it wouldn't have stuff like training mode as well and who the fuck would want that lmao When they say arcade perfect they just mean it's analogous to arcade gameplay in terms of function and gameplay (no frame drops, 60 fps, complete animations  as some ports like ps1 ports of Versus games have their full animations taken out to make for space and the systems limitations, limited input lag;etc.)

For an example of an arcade perfect game look at this.



This is arcade perfect and includes new modes and stuff. So there's  a POSSIBILITY (not guarantee) that SFZ3 has World Tour. Maybe even the PSP version World Tour.

I wouldn't be shocked if Capcom pushes Marvel onto tournaments if they want to have SFV or be a part of the Capcom Cup. Plus if EVO will host games like KOF14 which get like 300ish entries they'll happily host MVCI, which I'm sure will hit 500+.

Absolutely none outside of Season 3 being like $30 and the costumes don't come with the pass.

Yeah from the looks of it if you pre-order AE you get nine costumes so I guess that's worth waiting for (costs $32 with Prime discount vs $25 for S1+S2 passes), even though I don't want to use any of those characters (maybe Idooki).



Also this is kinda fucked up from Capcom. If you bought the game and supported their bullshit for two seasons you get nothing. If you waited til now to invest in their game you get nine costumes that everyone else will have to pay to own. Way to help out the people supporting you the whole time, dummies.

EDIT: Actually I guess not? The nine costumes come with Season 3 if you buy it. Jesus they made this about as confusing as fucking possible, didn't they?

If have the game already...don't bother with AE.  Just get the passes.  Hell, they might go on sale before AE is out or when it is released.  You can also just go play the story modes, get a shitload of FM, and unlock characters anyway...no season pass needed.  Even my goofy ass doesn't buy all the SFV content at the prices they sell some of the DLC for.

Extra Battle Crossover Costumes are coming with AE.  At least one new one every month that you can earn from doing challenges!





The bad news:

You have to pay fight money to do these challenges each time.  It doesn't say whether or not you can retry for free.  It will end up costing 10,000 FM to get one of these costumes.

Capcom is trying to make Fight Money happen. It's not gonna happen. Did they even bother to make an OFFLINE/singleplayer means of getting fight money with those challenges they supposedly introduced? Tried the Fighting Layer Ex beta for like 15 mins. Seems ok but kinda boring? Like didn't seem much it brought to the genre besides nostalgia. Otoh tried out the PS4 port of Mark of the Wolves that got for free from PS+ and damn, that's a quality port. Love MoTW.

What they were trying to say was that DOA5 support is over (including the sponsored tournaments), but it's not "dead" as in no more games ever.  I guess the Team Ninja PR dude is out of a job though?  Just absolutely bizarre what went down on that stream.
