Just watched the ending for FF7 DLC, saved myself $600

Plus the storage unit costs to house a PS5.

Star War Fallen Order update is coming today.  May consider revisiting, as the base PS4 one I played was ass-tastic.

Hasn't the PS5 update been out for months? Guess this is an actual next-gen patch.

Xbox Series X ran it at 60fps.

Kena looks pretty nice. Surprised this is a $40 game.   :obama

Coming to PC via EGS too.

Ratchet looks fucking insane on the 30fps mode.

Can Naughty Dog go back to Uncharted? Please. Linear level-based AAA stuff going to look insane this generation.

Also God of War 2 PS5 is gonna look so trash compared to Ratchet. Not only cross-gen, but the whole open-world fields/world style.
For Dad of War 3 they should just go back to being a linear set piece game on PS5 only to blow everyone away visually.

They'd have to overhaul their entire new gameplay system again for that to work. If anything the new style was already lineair setpiece shit, only now it's the "mature" cutscenes you get funneled into instead of the spectacle fighting cutscenes of the old games.

JP lip-synch is a really nice addition.

I still haven't played Ghost beyond the intro but the lip-synch making it feel like watching a dub but in reverse was a bit jarring. Will finally get to the game after this version launches.

Plague Tale has really pedestrian (and boring, tbh) gameplay, and an alright story, but the visuals are mostly great and an amazing soundtrack.
I wish they required some effort with the puzzles, it could've been a really cool game.

I bought God of War on sale for like $10 and didn't play it until I got a PS5, and honestly $:game ratio that's the best money I've ever spent. Other games I bought on PS4 and never finished that I will play now and also have PS5 upgrades: Horizon, Jedi Fallen Order, and Final Fantasy XV. I'm also fine with it, but it's just kind of funny to me that there's nothing exclusive to PS5 yet that I feel like I *have* to play. (I'll eventually get both Returnal and Ratchet but not spending $70, I'm cheap)

I mean it's $20-$30 for the new expansion. Not like they're charging just for PS5 upgrades.

Would be more similar to if FF7r PS5 charged $30 to upgrade but came with the Yuffie episode.

I'd be pretty scummy if not for

1) they already offered a 60 fps patch for the PS4 version on PS5. No one is locked to buying the more expensive PS5 version.
2) a free and beefy multiplayer mode released after launch.

I hope we get improved textures for the PS5 version too but otherwise I'm fine spending $30 for the expansion.

I won't call GoT DC scammy, but from the trailer, that new island's content really looks like a lot of the same stuff from the main game with minimal changes.
Hope i'm wrong because i had fun with the game and i wouldn't mind new stuff.

I mean it's an ubisoft-like expansion. Expecting anything more than more of the same with a new location seems unrealistically optimistic.

I finally was able to order one of these!

Got a bundle from GameStop which came with Ratchet, MLB, an extra controller, and a $40 gift card. They were having a b2g1 on preowned games so I used the gift card to get tlou2, ff7, and sotc remake. I also grabbed miles morales ultimate edition for $20 today and will be grabbing hzd, wipeout, and persona 5 royale off the psn store.

I had a ps4, but checked out midway through the generation since I got a pc and was tired of the ps4 sounding like an airplane. Looking forward to playing all the exclusives I missed which should last me a while!

Death Loop looks like an Arkane game, so if you like Dishonored, it looks like that (but without the cool setting).

I liked the new stuff in DS, JETT and FIST.

i really like the neo noir setting, and Dishonored's gameplay is ideal for fine tuning speed runs, learning different routes, perfecting that series of kills. the invasion mechanic might give it a little more longevity adding a competitive aspect. fresh concept that also appears very well executed  :yeshrug

Dishonored is really good. So Deathloop is either Day 1 or $5 for me depending on how rogue it is at launch. Will read up reviews on the mechanics and how much carries over and if you can beat it over time even if you suck like a rogue-like rather than a game you may never clear rogue.

I feel like it might not be that hard because it's going for mainstream appeal compared to something like Returnal which was going for that Nex Machina x Hades hardcore indie crowd.

Glad it's just minor stuff. Game is too long to be replayable.

Will be nice for people who are playing it for the first time though! And the game probably won't need a remaster for a long, long time between the PC version and PS5 version. Should hold up pretty well for a decade or two.

https://www.gematsu.com/2021/07/ps5-system-software-beta-version-2-0-04-00-00-rolling-out-adds-m-2-ssd-support

Quote
You can now insert an M.2 SSD to your PS5’s expansion slot and use M.2 SSD storage. Just like your PS5’s console storage, you can install PS5 and PS4 games in M2 SSD storage and play them directly from there.

You can use PCle 4.0 M.2 SSDS with a capacity of 250 GB minimum and 4 TB maximum.

To safely insert or remove your M.2 SSD, make sure your PS5 is turned off and that the AC power cord is unplugged.

To use M.2 SSD storage, insert your M2 SSD in your PS5’s expansion slot while your PS5 is turned off. When you turn on your PS5, you’ll format your M.2 SSD so that it’s ready to use.

To move a PS5 or PS4 game that’s installed in console storage or USB extended storage to M2 SSD storage, go to your game library, press the options button and then select [Move Games and Apps]. Then select the game you want to move, and then select.
Edit:

https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2021/7/29/22599593/sony-ps5-m2-ssd-support-beta-features

Quote
You may need to consider the cooling requirements for using an M.2 SSD in a PS5, though. “Using an M.2 SSD with your PS5 console requires effective heat dissipation with a cooling structure, such as a heatsink,” explains Sony. “You can attach one to your M.2 SSD yourself, either in a single-sided format, or double-sided format.”

That's a helluva an update. :leon  Actually surprised they're addressing the storage issue already.  Gonna hang back and see what M.2 SSD gets best results over time.  Not hurting for storage currently.   Wonder what with all the Library updates, but still no folders?   :doge

All I care about are Folders & VRR support. I have an external SSD hooked up via USB and even if I can't play games off it at least being able to store stuff so I don't have to redownload it and play PS4 titles directly off it is good enough for me.

In real world testing the sn850 comes out slightly on top but more or less the same as the 980 Pro and the new seagate firecuda and Kingston drives also seem pretty good. Personally like WD black as they're known for reliability, great testing, standard for the film industry.
